La Mirada Logo Design

Every new La Mirada venture knows they are in need of a logo, however few new business owners thoroughly recognize the pivotal role their organization logo can perform in their financial success, or exactly why one logo functions better than another. A logo has a critical and sustaining influence on the financial success of a business, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help La Mirada businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require scrutiny, they can be comprehended in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will stay legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a La Mirada coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening in an older part of town and hoped to project an old-fashioned atmosphere without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled both tasks by means of creating a custom logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria designed for La Mirada medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that studies the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which deals with the laboratory evaluation of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more appealing, more focus grabbing and even more memorable.

logo style with a jumping environment-friendly frog developed for a family members fun facility in La Mirada.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - designed for La Mirada travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but instead project emotional experiences through the images they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they frequently share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something the same to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  La Mirada logo design but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

La Mirada logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his scorn for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral judgements on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their logo recognize how important a logo design is for their organization so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job possesses it’s allotment of challenges, however the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for La Mirada book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin slice of real estate to work with, however it is the most crucial part of a published book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the very first thing a person sees in the book store. With regard to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems that in many instances 1 of the items consumers often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

La Mirada logo layout utilized for marketing as well as a tag style for Vintage Instance features an antiquated font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be older cases. For this brand design I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another generation.

Logo created for an orthodontist in La Mirada, style include an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging logo design projects considering that it appears that every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really love doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities startled in height to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to illustrate specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style produced for a hair layout workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo that conveyed an atmosphere of relaxation and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious path of designing just a stylized orchid but instead designed a logo design that implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is generally the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the attention on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Arabian steed logo design produced for a horse cattle ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a distinct business logo concept tailored to exemplify the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of equines. By having a distinctive head form and higher tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most immediately recognizable equine breeds in the world.

Las Cafe logo style a small dining establishment, layout consists of a customized script typeface which hovers over a group of elaborate lines as well as dots.

Logo design for a software designer the design attributes and legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk management. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo is equally as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

Progress logo layout produced for a La Mirada indoor designer, style function a collection of red circles that converge and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

This La Mirada logo design project was completed for a leadership advisor that enables business leaders to develop into more efficient at overseeing people, expectations, and profitability.

A logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a spot to sell off their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their La Mirada logo design dsign with an image that garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand concept wasn’t really produced for an La Mirada regional farm it was in reality created for a products broker, and this company was one of a handful of that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was really to develop an identity that projects self-assurance, effectiveness, and wealth.
Logo made for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is evocative a renowned sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked closely with the business owner to produce a logo that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
