Newark Logo Design

Nearly every new Newark company realizes that they require a logo, yet few new business owners entirely are aware of the crucial role their logo can perform in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo works better than another. A business logo has an instant and sustaining influence on the prosperity of a company, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Newark companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require contemplation, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will be legible and just as emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle developed for a Newark coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening up in an old section of the city and really wanted to project a retro feel without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I achieved each of the jobs by creating a business logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide as well as bacteria created for Newark clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the triggers and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that deals with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recollect in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog created for a family members fun facility in Newark.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and a tree - made for Newark traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead project emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they often tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with mere words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Newark logo design but also to show the depth in her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Newark logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to discuss it with colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get objective judgements on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their logo understand how essential a logo design is for their company so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo project possesses it’s portion of obstacles, but the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Newark publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, but it really is the most essential part of a printed book considering that it is usually the first thing a person views in the book store. Regarding a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever have to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it looks like that in many cases 1 of the items individuals often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a good sense of airline flight and it was surely a winner.

Newark logo layout made use of for marketing and also a tag style for Vintage Situation features an old font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be antique cases. For this logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid vintage feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Newark, design include an arc with lines converging with it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo jobs because it seems that every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dental logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities startled in elevation to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to illustrate specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo design created for a hair layout workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo that carried an atmosphere of simplicity and connection for their new hair studio. I created a design that did not go the obvious course of designing merely a stylized orchid but alternatively created a business logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is generally the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the attention on the feeling that they wanted to project to their clients.

Logo layout for a software application designer the style features and also renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the owner of the business and in many cases the meaning supporting a logo is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

A logo style featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly recognized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a spot to sell their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Newark business logo dsign along with a graphic which garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo layout has a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo design wasn’t actually composed for an Newark regional farm it was really devised for an investments broker, and this logo was one of multiple that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to develop a graphic that projected self-confidence, success, and affluence.
Logo design created for making use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a well-known sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked closely with the business owner to develop a logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
