Placentia Logo Design

Every new Placentia business realizes that they are in need of a logo, however few entrepreneurs fully realize the vital role their logo design can play in their success, or exactly why one logo design functions far better than another. A company logo has an immediate and long term effect on the prosperity of a company, choose the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Placentia companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require deliberation, they can be realized in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Retro logo style of a bicycle developed for a Placentia coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening up in an older part of the community and wanted to project a retro vibe without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished the two tasks via developing a trademark design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs made for Placentia medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that analyzes the root causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that works with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I recall in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves quite literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog created for a household fun facility in Placentia.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - developed for Placentia travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead communicate emotional journeys by means of the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they often convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something the same to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Placentia logo design but also to illustrate the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Placentia logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his hatred for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to share it with colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get neutral judgements on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really liked the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo design recognize how essential a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo project possesses it’s allotment of challenges, but the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Placentia book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most vital part of a printed book due to the fact that it is often the very first thing a person sees in the book store. For a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity they will ever have to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go yet it seems like that in many occurrences 1 of the items people tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a spirit of flight and it was definitely a success.

Placentia logo style used for marketing and also a label style for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this brand concept I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Placentia, design include an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs considering that it appears that every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business advertising, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really enjoy doing dental care logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family members nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters startled in height to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to illustrate how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo layout developed for a hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo that carried an atmosphere of serenity and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design which did not go the obvious route of designing merely a stylized orchid but instead created a company logo which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is generally the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the focus on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo style for a software program developer the design features as well as legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the substance behind a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly understood the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to sell their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Placentia logo dsign with a graphic which garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo design has a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo concept wasn’t actually created for an Placentia area farm it was really designed for a products broker, and this logo design was one of multiple that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to make a brand mark that projected assurance, success, and opulence.
Logo design designed for the use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font that is reminiscent of a renowned sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked directly with the proprietor to develop a logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
