Chelmsford Logo Design

Virtually every new Chelmsford business understands that they require a logo, yet few new business owners entirely comprehend the key role their logo will perform in their financial success, or exactly why one logo design performs far better than another. A business logo has an instant and lasting effect on the growth of a company, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Chelmsford companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require consideration, they can be comprehended in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will stay legible and equally emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Retro logo style of a bicycle developed for a Chelmsford coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually launching in an old part of the town and hoped to visualize a vintage feel without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished the two tasks via creating a custom logo concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide as well as germs created for Chelmsford clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that deals with the laboratory examination of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I recollect where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and even more memorable.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog created for a family members enjoyable facility in Chelmsford.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and a tree - created for Chelmsford traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead reveal emotional journeys through the images they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they frequently tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something the same to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Chelmsford logo design but also to show the depth in her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Chelmsford logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design projects that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however my client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his hatred for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to share it with friends and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get neutral point of views on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they adored the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to design their logo design recognize how crucial a logo design is for their organization so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo design project possesses it’s share of hurdles, but the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Chelmsford publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, yet it is the most crucial part of a printed book since it is usually the first thing a person sees in the book store. Regarding a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity they will ever have to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go yet it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects consumers tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a success.

Chelmsford logo layout made use of for marketing as well as a label layout for Vintage Instance includes an antiquated font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be much older cases. For this brand design I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Chelmsford, design include an arc with lines intersecting with it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most difficult logo jobs because it appears that every single dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental offices do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dentist logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a household not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to illustrate precisely how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair design workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo that carried a sense of relaxation and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious course of designing just a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a business logo that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is in most cases the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the attention on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software developer the design features as well as renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the owner of the business and in many cases the meaning behind a logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

Evolve logo layout created for a Chelmsford interior designer, layout attribute a series of red circles that intersect and change the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

A logo design including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to sell their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Chelmsford logo dsign along with an image that captures the attention of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo layout has a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo design wasn’t actually developed for an Chelmsford area farm it was in reality devised for a products broker, and this trademark was one of multiple which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to generate a graphic that projects esteem, effectiveness, and affluence.
Logo developed for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is evocative a popular sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked closely with the proprietor to develop a business logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
