Blue Springs Logo Design

Virtually every new Blue Springs business knows they are in need of a logo, yet few new business owners entirely grasp the pivotal role their business logo will take in their success, or the reason that one logo design performs far better than another. A logo has a critical and sustaining influence on the financial success of a company, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Blue Springs businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require scrutiny, they can be realized in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will remain legible and just as emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Blue Springs coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an older section of town and hoped to project a retro feel without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished both of these tasks by means of developing a symbol concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria designed for Blue Springs medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the root causes and consequences of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which works with the clinical assessment of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves very literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and even more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a household enjoyable center in Blue Springs.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Blue Springs travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but rather reveal emotional experiences through the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they frequently share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Blue Springs logo design but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Blue Springs logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design projects that I take on I genuinely savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but the client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members didn’t share his aversion for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to share it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get impartial opinions on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really liked the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their business logo realize how essential a logo is for their company so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo job has it’s portion of difficulties, but the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Blue Springs publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most crucial part of a printed book given that it is ordinarily the initial thing a person views in the bookstore. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity they will likely ever get to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it looks like that in many occurrences one of the things people tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a good sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Blue Springs logo design utilized for marketing and a label design for Vintage Situation features an archaic font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this logo design I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Blue Springs, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo design projects considering that it seems that each and every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dentists do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really love doing dentist business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a household not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in height to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to explain specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair design studio including a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a business logo which projected a sense of calmness and class for their new hair studio. I created a concept which didn’t go the obvious course of crafting simply a stylized orchid but rather created a logo which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is oftentimes the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the main focus on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo style for a software application developer the layout features and also iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the significance behind a logo design is just as important as how it brands the business it represents.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a spot to market their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Blue Springs business logo dsign with an illustration that captures the attention of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo layout has actually an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t really designed for an Blue Springs area farm it was actually developed for a products broker, and this particular company was one of a handful of that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to generate a graphic that projects esteem, effectiveness, and prosperity.
Logo design developed for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is similar to a renowned sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created dozens of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo design which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
