Syracuse Logo Design

Virtually every new Syracuse business realizes that they require a logo, yet few entrepreneurs thoroughly understand the vital role their logo will perform in their financial success, or exactly why one business logo works far better than another. A logo design has an immediate and long-term impact on the financial success of a company, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Syracuse companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require contemplation, they can be realized in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bike created for a Syracuse coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were launching in an old section of town and wanted to project an old-fashioned vibe without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs via creating a company logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and also germs created for Syracuse medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which investigates the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine which deals with the clinical examination of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I remember in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog developed for a family members fun center in Syracuse.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Syracuse travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather convey emotional experiences through the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Syracuse logo design but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Syracuse logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I seriously take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however my client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man really despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his hatred for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral viewpoints on the value of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they adored the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo design comprehend how vital a logo design is for their company so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo project possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, however the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Syracuse publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow segment of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most vital part of a printed book considering that it is usually the very first thing a person sees in the book shop. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the opportunity that they will ever get to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it seems like that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects folks often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a spirit of airline flight and it was surely a winner.

Syracuse logo design made use of for advertising as well as a tag style for Vintage Situation features an antiquated font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be much older cases. For this logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Syracuse, layout include an arc with lines converging with it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo jobs due to the fact that it appears that virtually every dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dentistry logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family members nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities startled in elevation to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to illustrate precisely how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style produced for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design that conveyed an atmosphere of relaxation and class for their new hair salon. I created a design which did not go the obvious path of crafting simply a stylized orchid but rather designed a logo design which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is oftentimes the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the emphasis on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software application developer the layout functions and famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a company logo is just as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

Develop logo style produced for a Syracuse interior developer, style attribute a collection of red circles that intersect and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

A logo style featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to sell off their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Syracuse business logo dsign using an illustration which grabs the interest of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo design has actually an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t actually composed for an Syracuse area farm it was actually developed for an investments broker, and this particular company logo was one of several that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to develop a brand mark that projected self-confidence, success, and wealth.
Logo designed for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is evocative a well-known sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to create a logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
