League City Logo Design

Every new League City venture understands that they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs fully realize the essential role their company logo can make in their success, or why one logo design performs better than another. A company logo has an instant and sustaining effect on the prosperity of a business, select the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help League City companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand contemplation, they can be realized in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a League City coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening in an older part of the city and really wanted to cast a vintage tone without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved the two tasks via designing a custom logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide as well as bacteria designed for League City medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that analyzes the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which deals with the clinical assessment of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I call to mind where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Usually I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more attention grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo style with a jumping green frog made for a family fun facility in League City.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - made for League City travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead reveal emotional experiences by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  League City logo but also to illustrate the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

League City logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design jobs that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but the client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his scorn for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to share it with colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced viewpoints on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they adored the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to create their business logo comprehend how vital a logo design is for their organization so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo design project has it’s allotment of challenges, however the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for League City publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, however it is the most essential part of a printed book due to the fact that it is in most cases the initial thing a person views in the book store. Regarding a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it seems like that in many cases one of the traits individuals usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a feeling of flight and it was definitely a winner.

League City logo layout used for advertising and marketing and a label style for Vintage Instance includes an archaic typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be much older cases. For this logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another generation.

Logo created for an orthodontist in League City, style include an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo design jobs considering that it appears that almost every dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental practices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really enjoy doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a household not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 personalities startled in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to illustrate exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair design workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo which related an atmosphere of peace and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious path of making merely a stylized orchid but rather created a company logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is usually the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the main focus on the perception that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Logo style for a software program designer the layout functions as well as renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection in between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in many cases the substance supporting a logo design is just as important as how it brands the business it represents.

A logo design featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to sell their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their League City logo dsign with an illustration which garners the attention of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo design has actually an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem design wasn’t really designed for an League City area farm it was really devised for an investments broker, and this particular brand was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to make a brand mark that projects self-confidence, effectiveness, and prosperity.
Logo created for the use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is evocative a famous sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked closely with the owner to design a logo design which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
