Alabama Logo Design

Each and every new Alabama  venture knows they require a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly grasp the vital role their logo can play in their becoming successful, or exactly why one logo design works better than another. A logo design has a critical and lasting influence on the growth of a business, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Alabama businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require scrutiny, they can be understood in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will be legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo design of a bike produced for a Alabama coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening in an old part of the city and really wanted to visualize an old-fashioned vibe without coming across as boring or low energy. I fulfilled both jobs by means of designing a business logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and bacteria made for Alabama clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which works with the laboratory examination of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I remember where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Usually I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and much more memorable.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog designed for a family members fun facility in Alabama.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more lively high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - designed for Alabama travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but rather reveal emotional journeys through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they often convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something comparable to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Alabama  logo but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Alabama logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I truly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but my client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his scorn for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get impartial viewpoints on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they adored the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo design comprehend how important a logo is for their company so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo design project possesses it’s share of challenges, however the greatest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Alabama publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow piece of real estate to work with, yet it is the most critical part of a printed book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the first thing a person sees in the book store. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it looks like that in many cases one of the things consumers tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a good sense of airline flight and it was surely a success.

Alabama logo design made use of for marketing and also a tag design for Vintage Instance includes an old-fashioned font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this logo design I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Alabama, design consist of an arc with lines converging via it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects considering that it seems that each and every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really love doing dentist logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a household nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities startled in height to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the families in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to explain specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a hair style studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo that carried an atmosphere of serenity and class for their new hair salon. I created a concept which did not go the obvious path of designing simply a stylized orchid but rather created a logo that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is in most cases the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the emphasis on the emotion that they wanted to project to their customers.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software program developer the style functions and famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the meaning supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

Evolve logo layout developed for a Alabama indoor designer, style attribute a collection of red circles that converge as well as change the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

A logo design including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly recognized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to sell off their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Alabama logo design design with a graphic which garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.

Logo layout MQ farms, this logo style has a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t actually created for an Alabama  farm it was really created for a commodities broker, and this particular company logo was one of multiple which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to generate an identity that projected confidence, success, and affluence.

Alabama Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo layout feature for outwardly facing arrow and also the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the liberty to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where the target is. Luckily, in this particular instance, I hit a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo design developed for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a well-known sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked closely with the business owner to create a logo design which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
