Bessemer Logo Design

Every new Bessemer venture knows they need a logo, but few new business owners fully understand the vital role their organization logo can perform in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo design performs more effectively than another. A logo design has a critical and lasting effect on the growth of a business, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Bessemer businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand consideration, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will be legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle developed for a Bessemer coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and bistro were opening up in an old part of the community and wanted to visualize a nostalgic atmosphere without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks by creating a symbol design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and also bacteria developed for Bessemer clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that analyzes the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare that deals with the clinical examination of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Generally I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more interesting, more interest grabbing and more meaningful.

logo style with a leaping green frog designed for a family members enjoyable center in Bessemer.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Bessemer travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather communicate emotional experiences through the images they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they frequently share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Bessemer logo design but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Bessemer logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his hatred for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to share it with colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get honest assessments on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they really liked the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their business logo comprehend how vital a logo is for their organization so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo job possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, however the greatest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for Bessemer book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, however it is the most critical part of a printed book considering that it is in most cases the initial thing a person views in the book store. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will likely ever have to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it seems like that in many cases one of the aspects consumers tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a good sense of flight and it was definitely a winner.

Bessemer logo layout made use of for advertising and also a label layout for Vintage Situation includes an archaic typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be older cases. For this logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid retro feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Bessemer, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design jobs due to the fact that it seems that each and every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities surprised in elevation to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to explain precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design created for a hair style workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo that related a sense of tranquility and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious direction of crafting merely a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo design which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is more often than not the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the importance on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Las Cafe logo style a little restaurant, design contains a modified manuscript font which floats over a group of luxuriant lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software program developer the design features as well as famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the owner of the company and in many cases the meaning supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

A logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly realized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to market their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Bessemer logo dsign utilizing an image which grabs the interest of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo layout has a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo design wasn’t actually created for an Bessemer area farm it was actually designed for a commodities broker, and this creative logo was one of many that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to design a brand mark that projected esteem, effectiveness, and luxury.
Logo designed for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font style that is evocative a well-known sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked closely with the business owner to produce a logo design which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
