TIPS ON DETERMINING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design agency presents a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they can’t refund the amount of time you invest which is much more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some design firms talk a good game but ultimately a design firm can only be judged by the quality of their design work, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t contain real life samples odds are they will not be able to produce a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be recognized and be unforgettable, and it’s objective is to mirror your personal vision for your organization. If a logo designer is not focused on realizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how soon they will get paid.

Cullman LOGO DESIGN

For over 2 decades ImageCo has been helping small business owners establish unforgettable brand identities. We’ve done logo design work for builders, educational institutions, heart surgeons, wedding singers, restaurants, retail stores, and just about every other kind of business concern you can think of. What makes ImageCo different compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every design as though it will be used as an electrical sign. Because of our sign first method our identity designs can, and have been utilized in everything from clothing labels to electrical signs. Our sign first method guarantees that our logo designs are just as reliable whether they are used in TV commercials or web headers, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and always remembered irrespective of size or use.

American Made ★ Design

The thing which really sets ImageCo apart from many of the design agencies that you may have come across in Google’s search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every design project we are enlisted to perform, we do in-house. Regardless of the type of project we undertake, business logo, business website, trade show booth, or electrical sign, we do not, and never will job-out our customer’s work to companies based outside the USA. When you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that picks up the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not an agent that increases the cost of your design project and determines the conditions of how we do business.

QUALITIES OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Every new Cullman business knows they need a logo, yet few start ups thoroughly comprehend the essential role their business logo will make in their success, or the reason that one business logo performs better than another. A logo design has a critical and lasting effect on the financial success of a company, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Cullman businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not need contemplation, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from label to billboards a scalable logo design will remain legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the item or company they brand.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be timeless and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It’s both a verb as well as a noun, it is an identifying mark and the act of denoting something to ensure that it can be recognized, its genesis originates from the mark burned onto livestock. These days a brand symbolizes basically anything with an objective, whether it be revenue or politics, a brand is an inherent aspect of defining the worth of something in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s sexy sister, they are each from the exact same family, the difference being that marketing and advertising are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity competition targeted at a target market, it’s goal is to produce a mental image that the audience will likely identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When somebody mentions the brand names Lamborghini or Mustang what we consider is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can carry us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, elegance, of something dangerous and sexy . That is brand image and that is what makes people want those brands. Brand image is why people identify with specific brands, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can relate to.

Branding Firms – If you look back at the origin of a lot of branding agencies you’ll discover that they are frequently re-branded marketing and advertising companies. When a person states they are in marketing the majority of people will likely have a preconceived notion about what they do. Yet when somebody says “I’m in branding”… it simply sounds more impressive, possibly it’s due to the fact that most individuals do not understand what it indicates to be in branding so it comes off as mysterious and even attractive.

Brand Identity – Is an inclusive term that describes the visual components of a product or company that influence understandings. This mostly consists of the name, the logo, the packaging, the different colors utilized but can likewise include audio, lighting, texture, signs, really anything that can be seen, felt or heard belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that focuses on a type of visual design that helps shape the perception of a firm, a product or an institution. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, as well as collateral material such as business cards, stationery, and also brochures. Some visual designers also design web sites and software interfaces. The vital role of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues as well as an emotional tone with the goal of influencing actions, outcomes as well as understandings.

select SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo layout of a bicycle developed for a Cullman coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening in an old section of the town and wished to visualize a vintage feel without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I achieved the two jobs by means of developing a company logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria created for Cullman medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that examines the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine which works with the laboratory assessment of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I remember in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more appealing, more focus grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a household fun facility in Cullman.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - made for Cullman travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead communicate emotional experiences through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they frequently share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Cullman logo but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Cullman logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design jobs that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get honest point of views on the value of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo design understand how vital a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo job possesses it’s allotment of hurdles, but the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, design for Cullman publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, yet it is the most crucial part of a published book considering that it is ordinarily the initial thing a person sees in the book shop. For a publishing company, it’s the opportunity that they will likely ever have to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it looks like that in many cases 1 of the things consumers often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller fledgling commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a feeling of flight and it was definitely a winner.

Cullman logo layout utilized for advertising and also a tag style for Vintage Situation includes an old-fashioned font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this brand concept I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could be used for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Cullman, layout include an arc with lines converging through it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo design projects because it appears that almost every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I actually love doing dental logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 personalities surprised in elevation to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to illustrate precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo design created for a Cullman hair style workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo that projected a feeling of tranquility and class for their new hair salon. I created a design which did not go the obvious direction of crafting simply a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a business logo which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is more often than not the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the attention on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Arabian horse logo style created for an equine ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a unique company logo design fashioned to embody the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of horses. With an identifiable head form and very high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most immediately recognizable equine breeds in the world.

Las Cafe, A Cullman Coffee shop logo style a tiny restaurant, design consists of a customized manuscript font which floats above a group of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo style a tiny dining establishment, layout includes a customized manuscript font which hovers over a group of ornate lines as well as dots.

Logo layout for a software program programmer the layout functions and renowned Cullman aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the owner of the company and in many cases the meaning behind a business logo is just as important as how it brands the company it represents.

Evolve logo style developed for a Cullmanindoor developer, style feature a series of red circles that converge and replace the letter O in the center of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Cullman interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who prepares, researches, collaborates, and oversees such tasks. Interior design is a multifaceted occupation that consists of conceptual development, area planning, location inspections, programming, study, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction management, and implementation of the design.

logo layout done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Cullman, the characters for letter V and A in center of words progressed have actually been changed to tie directly right into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Cullman logo design project was performed for a management guide that enables business professionals to become more efficient at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Cullman business logo style including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly recognized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to sell their used products to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Cullman logo design design with a graphic which garners the interest of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.

Logo layout MQ ranches, this Cullman company logo style has actually a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand design wasn’t really designed for an Cullman regional farm it was in reality devised for a commodities broker, and this particular company was one of multiple that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to produce an identity that projected self-confidence, effectiveness, and prosperity.

Cullman Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo layout attribute for outwardly facing arrowhead and the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design that they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the opportunity to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without knowing where the target is. Fortunately, in this instance, I struck a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo design made for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is evocative a famous Cullman sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted loads of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked directly with the business owner to design a logo that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
