Oxford Logo Design

Virtually every new Oxford organization realizes that they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs fully grasp the pivotal role their organization logo can take in their financial success, or precisely why one logo performs better than another. A company logo has an immediate and long-term effect on the success of a company, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Oxford companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand deliberation, they can be understood in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Oxford coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening in an older part of the community and wanted to project a nostalgic tone without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks by creating a company logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as bacteria developed for Oxford clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine which deals with the laboratory evaluation of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I recall where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping green frog made for a family fun facility in Oxford.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Oxford traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but rather reveal emotional experiences through the photos they record. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they often tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Oxford logo but also to illustrate the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Oxford logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but my client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his contempt for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get honest opinions on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their logo recognize how vital a logo design is for their company so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo design project possesses it’s portion of difficulties, but the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Oxford book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most essential part of a published book because it is ordinarily the primary thing a person views in the book shop. For a publisher, it’s the opportunity they will likely ever have to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it looks like that in many cases one of the aspects folks tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a sense of flight and it was surely a winner.

Oxford logo style made use of for advertising and marketing and a label layout for Vintage Situation features an antiquated font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be vintage cases. For this business logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a website to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another era.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Oxford, style consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects because it seems that almost every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really love doing dental business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a household not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters surprised in height to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to explain precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that describes itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair style workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo which conveyed an atmosphere of serenity and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious route of creating just a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is oftentimes the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the attention on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Arabian equine logo style produced for an equine cattle ranch that specializes in breeding Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software program designer the design features and also legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive management. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it represented something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the substance supporting a logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

Develop logo layout developed for a Oxford interior developer, style attribute a series of red circles that converge as well as change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Oxford business logo dsign utilizing an image that garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo style has actually a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t actually designed for an Oxford regional farm it was really devised for a products broker, and this trademark was one of many that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to develop a brand mark that projects esteem, success, and luxury.
Logo developed for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font style that is reminiscent of a popular sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created loads of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
