Talladega Logo Design

Nearly every new Talladega company knows they need a logo, but few new business owners entirely are aware of the key role their business logo will play in their success, or exactly why one logo works more effectively than another. A logo has an instant and lasting effect on the prosperity of a company, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Talladega businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require scrutiny, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo design of a bike produced for a Talladega coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were actually launching in an older part of the town and hoped to visualize a vintage atmosphere without coming across as boring or low energy. I achieved both jobs by means of designing a sign concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also germs designed for Talladega medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which works with the clinical examination of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I recollect in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Generally I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more attention grabbing and more memorable.

logo style with a jumping green frog made for a family fun center in Talladega.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and a tree - designed for Talladega traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but rather convey emotional journeys by means of the images they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with mere words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Talladega logo design but also to show the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Talladega logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design projects that I take on I truly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family did not share his scorn for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get objective judgements on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their business logo realize how vital a logo is for their organization so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo design job possesses it’s allotment of hurdles, but the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Talladega book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, however it really is the most important part of a printed book since it is often the initial thing a person views in the bookstore. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it looks like that in many occurrences one of the items people usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small new venture commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a good sense of flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Talladega logo layout used for advertising as well as a tag layout for Vintage Situation features an old font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this brand design I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Talladega, style include an arc with lines converging through it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most challenging logo projects considering that it seems that every single dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really love doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a household nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to illustrate how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style developed for a hair design workshop including a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a business logo which carried an atmosphere of serenity and class for their new hair salon. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious route of crafting simply a stylized orchid but rather crafted a company logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is frequently the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the attention on the perception that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Logo layout for a software application designer the layout functions and famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the business it represents.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly knew the market was primed for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to sell off their used items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Talladega business logo dsign along with an illustration which garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo design has actually a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand design wasn’t actually developed for an Talladega area farm it was in reality created for a products broker, and this trademark was one of many that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to make a brand mark that projects esteem, success, and wealth.
Logo design designed for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font that is evocative a well-known sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the business owner to produce a logo that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
