STRATEGIES ON SELECTING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design firm presents a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they can not refund the time you commit which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many designers talk a good game but inevitably a design agency can only be evaluated from the quality of their design work, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t contain real life samples odds are they won’t be able to deliver a top quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be recognized and remembered, and it’s purpose is to mirror your unique vision for your organization. If a designer isn’t focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how soon they will get paid.

Tillmans Corner LOGO DESIGN

For over 20 years ImageCo has been helping start ups and entrepreneurs cultivate notable brand identities. We’ve undertaken brand design work for ranchers, colleges, heart surgeons, wedding singers, coffee roasters, retail stores, and practically every other kind of business you can think of. What makes us different compared to our competitors is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every brand identity project as though it will be employed as an electric sign. Because of our sign first approach our logo designs can, and have been used in everything from fashion labels to electrical signs. Our sign first method insures that our logo designs are just as reliable whether they are used in television commercials or web apps, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and remembered irrespective of scale or purpose.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference that really sets ImageCo apart from many of the design firms that you might have stumbled upon on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every project we are brought on board to do, we perform ourselves. No matter the type of project we take on, business logo, business website, trade show banners, or commercial sign, we do not, and never will contract out our customer’s work to agencies based outside the US. Whenever you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that picks up the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a go-between that marks up the cost of your project and determines the terms of how you and I do business.

ASPECTS OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Every new Tillmans Corner entrepreneur knows they probably need a logo, yet few new business owners entirely comprehend the pivotal role their business logo can perform in their becoming successful, or why one logo design functions better than another. A company logo has a critical and sustaining impact on the growth of a company, pick the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Tillmans Corner companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not need deliberation, they can be comprehended in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to posters a scalable logo design will stay legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the item or company they brand.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be enduring and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It is a verb as well as a noun, it is an identifying mark as well as the process of denoting something to make sure that it can be identified, its foundation originates from the mark branded onto livestock. Today a brand signifies practically anything with an intention, whether it be revenue or politics, a brand is an inherent aspect of specifying the value of something in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s attractive cousin, they are each from the very same family, the difference being that marketing and advertising have to do with making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity contest targeted at a target market, it’s goal is to create a mental image that the target market will likely connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured by advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When a person says the brand names Lamborghini or Mustang what we think about is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, beauty, of something dangerous and sexy . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals purchase those products. Brand image is why people buy most things, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can relate to.

Branding Companies – If you reflect on the history of the majority of branding agencies you’ll discover that they are quite often rebranded advertising companies. When someone says they are in advertising and marketing many people will likely have a preconceived notion about what they do. Yet when someone says “I am in branding”… it just seems more impressive, maybe it’s due to the fact that many people do not understand what it means to be in branding so it comes off as more mysterious and even sexy.

Brand Identity – Is a comprehensive term that defines the visual elements of a product or company that influence perceptions. This mainly consists of the name, the logo, the packaging, the colors utilized yet can likewise consist of sound, lights, texture, signage, actually anything that can be seen, felt or listened to become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that concentrates on a kind of visual design that helps shape the public image of a business, a product or a business organization. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, sign designs, packaging, and also collateral material such as business cards, stationery, and brochures. Some visual designers also develop web sites and software interfaces. The necessary duty of a brand identity designer is to establish the visual cues and also an emotional tone with the goal of influencing actions, outcomes and also understandings.

select SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo design of a bicycle produced for a Tillmans Corner coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening in an old part of town and wished to project an old-fashioned vibe without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled the two tasks via creating a custom logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and also germs created for Tillmans Corner medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that deals with the laboratory examination of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves quite literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more focus grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog made for a family members enjoyable facility in Tillmans Corner.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more lively high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and also a tree - created for Tillmans Corner traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather communicate emotional experiences by means of the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they often tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with just words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Tillmans Corner logo but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Tillmans Corner logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however the client, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his contempt for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get neutral viewpoints on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo design realize how vital a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo design job has it’s portion of challenges, however the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Tillmans Corner book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, however it is the most crucial part of a printed book given that it is in most cases the first thing a person views in the bookstore. Concerning a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will likely ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go however it looks like that in many cases one of the aspects people often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a sense of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Tillmans Corner logo style utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a label design for Vintage Instance includes an antiquated font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be vintage cases. For this custom logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid vintage feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Tillmans Corner, layout include an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo jobs because it seems that every single dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dentists do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family members nonprofit, the logo features 4 characters startled in elevation to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the families in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to illustrate exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that describes itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo style produced for a Tillmans Corner hair design workshop including a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo which related a spirit of calmness and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a concept that did not go the obvious course of making simply a stylized orchid but rather created a company logo which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is oftentimes the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the importance on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Arabian steed logo style produced for an equine ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted an original brand design customized to display the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of equines. With a distinctive head shape and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the most easily identifiable equine types in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Tillmans Corner Coffee shop logo layout a little dining establishment, style consists of a customized manuscript font which hovers above a group of elaborate lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo layout a small dining establishment, layout includes a customized manuscript font which hovers over a group of luxuriant lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software program designer the layout functions and also famous Tillmans Corner element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a company logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it represents.

Progress logo layout created for a Tillmans Cornerinterior developer, layout attribute a collection of red circles that converge and change the letter O in the center of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Tillmans Corner interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who plans, explores, collaborates, and manages such tasks. Interior design is a diverse profession that consists of conceptual development, area planning, location assessments, programming, analysis, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and execution of the design.

logo design done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Tillmans Corner, the personalities for letter V and A in center of the word advanced have been customized to tie straight into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Tillmans Corner logo design job was completed for a management specialist that helps business leaders to develop into more successful at overseeing people, expectations, and profitability.

A Tillmans Corner business logo design featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to sell their secondhand items to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Tillmans Corner logo design design along with an illustration which garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.

Logo style MQ farms, this Tillmans Corner company logo design has actually a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t really developed for an Tillmans Corner regional farm it was actually devised for a products broker, and this particular business logo was one of multiple which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to design an identity that projected esteem, success, and wealth.

Tillmans Corner Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo layout function for ostensibly facing arrowhead as well as the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design that they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the freedom to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this particular instance, I hit a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo design made for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is similar to a well-known Tillmans Corner sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked directly with the owner to produce a logo design that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
