Troy Logo Design

Each and every new Troy venture understands that they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly comprehend the key role their logo design will take in their financial success, or exactly why one logo performs far better than another. A business logo has a critical and sustaining effect on the financial success of a business, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Troy companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand contemplation, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bicycle created for a Troy coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening up in an old section of town and hoped to cast a retro tone without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I achieved each of the jobs via creating a business logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as bacteria created for Troy clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that deals with the laboratory assessment of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I recall in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Usually I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves quite literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a family enjoyable center in Troy.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Troy travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather project emotional journeys through the photos they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they often share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Troy logo but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Troy logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy truly hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his contempt for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced viewpoints on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo design realize how important a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo job possesses it’s portion of obstacles, however the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Troy book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, yet it is the most essential part of a printed book given that it is in most cases the first thing a person views in the bookstore. Regarding a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity they will ever get to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the items individuals tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a good sense of airline flight and it was definitely a winner.

Troy logo design utilized for advertising as well as a label design for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be older cases. For this brand design I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Troy, layout consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects considering that it appears that every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dental practices do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I actually love doing dentistry logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 personalities startled in elevation to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to summarize precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo design produced for a hair design workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo that carried a sense of simplicity and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious route of creating simply a stylized orchid but instead designed a logo design that suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is generally the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the emphasis on the feeling that they wanted to project to their customers.

Logo layout for a software application developer the style functions and famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a logo design is just as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

A logo design including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market was primed for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to sell off their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Troy logo dsign utilizing a graphic which garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo design has a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t really produced for an Troy area farm it was actually devised for an investments broker, and this logo was one of multiple which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to produce a brand mark that projected self-confidence, financial success, and opulence.
Logo design designed for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font style that is reminiscent of a famous sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the proprietor to produce a logo that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
