Bethel, Alaska Logo Design

Virtually every new Bethel business professional understands that they require a logo, but few new business owners entirely comprehend the essential role their logo can perform in their becoming successful, or why one logo design functions more effectively than another. A business logo has an immediate and sustaining effect on the success of a company, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a company.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Bethel, Alaska businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require scrutiny, they can be understood in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from labels to billboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be ageless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.
Retro logo design of a bicycle produced for a Bethel, Alaska coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually launching in an older part of the area and wanted to visualize a vintage atmosphere without appearing as boring or low energy. I fulfilled each of the tasks via creating a symbol concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and bacteria created for Bethel, Alaska clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the field of medicine that deals with the laboratory assessment of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I recollect in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Usually I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more interesting, more interest grabbing and more memorable.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog developed for a household fun center in Bethel, Alaska.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Bethel, Alaska traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead convey emotional journeys through the photos they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with just words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Bethel logo design but also to show the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Bethel logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I genuinely savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however the client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his aversion for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial viewpoints on the value of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to create their business logo realize how important a logo design is for their company so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo design project possesses it’s allotment of challenges, but the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Bethel, Alaska book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, but it really is the most necessary part of a published book considering that it is often the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. For a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will ever get to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go yet it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the items consumers usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a feeling of airline flight and it was surely a success.

Bethel logo design made use of for marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Case features an archaic font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this custom logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Bethel, Alaska, layout include an arc with lines converging via it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs due to the fact that it appears that every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really enjoy doing dental logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members nonprofit, the logo features 4 characters staggered in height to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to illustrate exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair style studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo design which projected an atmosphere of tranquility and class for their new hair studio. I created a concept which did not go the obvious path of creating simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is more often than not the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the main focus on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their clients.

Logo style for a software designer the style attributes and also famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it represents.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly realized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell off their previously owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Bethel logo dsign utilizing a graphic that garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo style has a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t really composed for an Bethel, Alaska area farm it was really devised for a commodities broker, and this brand was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to design a graphic that projected self-assurance, financial success, and luxury.

Bethel Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style function for ostensibly encountering arrow and the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the opportunity to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without realizing where the target is. Fortunately, in this particular case, I nailed a bullseye with the first try.

Logo design made for using an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is evocative a popular sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked closely with the owner to create a logo design which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
