POINTERS FOR DETERMINING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design agency presents a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they can not reimburse the amount of time you commit which is much more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some design firms talk a good game but ultimately a designer can only be judged by the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their portfolio doesn’t feature real world samples chances are they will not be able to deliver a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be understood and be unforgettable, and it’s purpose is to mirror your personal vision for your organization. If a logo designer is not focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how quickly they will get paid.

Chandler LOGO DESIGN

For over twenty years ImageCo has been helping small business owners develop unforgettable brands. We have undertaken logo design work for mechanics, educational institutions, diamond miners, wedding singers, bistros, retailers, and practically every other kind of business you can think of. What makes us different compared to our competitors is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every logo design project as if it will be utilized as an electrical sign. Because of our sign first approach our identity designs can, and have been employed in everything from fashion labels to electrical signs. Our sign first approach ensures that our logo designs are equally effective whether they are used in television commercials or website applications, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and always remembered no matter of size or function.

American Made ★ Design

Something which truly sets ImageCo apart from many of the design companies that you may have come across online, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every design project we are enlisted to perform, we perform in-house. Irrespective of the type of project we take on, logo design, web site, trade show exhibit, or electrical sign, we do not, and never will job out our customer’s projects to agencies based outside the USA. When you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that increases the cost of your design project and imposes the terms of how we do business.

ASPECTS OF AN EFFECTIVE LOGO DESIGN

Virtually every new Chandler company knows they need a logo, yet few start-ups fully realize the key role their organization’s logo will perform in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo functions far better than another. A company logo has an instant and lasting influence on the growth of a business, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Chandler businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t need scrutiny, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from label to billboards a scalable logo design will be legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the product or business they brand.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be enduring and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

understand your brand

Brand – It’s both a verb as well as a noun, it’s an identifying mark and the act of noting something so that it could be recognized, its genesis originates from the mark burned onto animals. Today a brand indicates pretty much anything with a motive, whether it be profit or political parties, a brand is an innate aspect of specifying the worth of something in the customer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like marketing and advertising’s attractive sister, they are all from the same family, the difference being that advertising and marketing have to do with making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest targeted at a target audience, it’s goal is to produce a mental image that the audience can identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured through advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When someone says the brand names Ferrari or Mustang what we consider is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can deliver us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and sexy . That is brand image and brand image is what makes people want those products. Brand image is why people buy most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can relate to.

Branding Firms – If you look back at the beginning of many branding firms you’ll discover that they are often re-branded marketing firms. When somebody claims they are in advertising the majority of people will likely have an idea about what they do. Yet when somebody claims “I am in branding”… it simply seems much more impressive, probably it’s due to the fact that most people don’t know what it means to be in branding so it comes off as mysterious and perhaps even sexy.

Brand Identity – Is an inclusive term that describes the visual components of a product or company that influence understandings. This mostly consists of the name, the logo, the product packaging, the colors used however can likewise include sound, illumination, texture, signage, really anything that can be seen, felt or heard become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that specializes in a type of visual design which helps form the public image of a firm, a product or a business organization. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, sign designs, product packaging, as well as collateral material such as business cards, stationery, and pamphlets. Some identity designers also build sites as well as software interfaces. The necessary role of a brand identity designer is to establish the visual cues as well as an emotional tone with the goal of influencing actions, end results as well as perceptions.

Featured SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Chandler coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening in an older section of the area and really wanted to project a nostalgic atmosphere without appearing as boring or low energy. I achieved both of these tasks by creating a logo concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as bacteria designed for Chandler medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which analyzes the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which works with the clinical assessment of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I recall where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more attention grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping environment-friendly frog made for a family members enjoyable facility in Chandler.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Chandler traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead project emotional experiences by means of the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something the same to this logo by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Chandler logo but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Chandler logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however the customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his scorn for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial judgements on the value of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo realize how crucial a logo design is for their organization so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo project possesses it’s portion of hurdles, however the greatest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Chandler publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, yet it is the most critical part of a printed book given that it is often the initial thing a person views in the bookstore. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever have to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it seems that in many cases one of the things people often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small startup commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a spirit of flight and it was surely a victory.

Chandler logo style made use of for marketing and a label layout for Vintage Case includes an antiquated font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be vintage cases. For this brand concept I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Chandler, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo design projects considering that it seems that every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really enjoy doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo features 4 personalities startled in elevation to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to illustrate exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design produced for a Chandler hair style studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo which carried a feeling of tranquility and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a design that did not go the obvious path of creating simply a stylized orchid but instead created a business logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is frequently the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the focus on the emotion that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian steed logo design developed for a horse cattle ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a unique custom logo concept customized to display the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of horses. By having an identifiable head form and high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the highly immediately identifiable horse lineages in the world.

Las Cafe, A Chandler Coffee shop logo style a small restaurant, design contains a modified manuscript typeface which floats over a group of elaborate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo design a little restaurant, design includes a modified manuscript font style which hovers over a team of ornate lines as well as dots.

Logo design for a software application developer the style functions and famous Chandler aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it meant something to the owner of the business and in many cases the substance supporting a logo is equally as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

Develop logo style produced for a Chandlerindoor developer, style function a collection of red circles that intersect and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Chandler interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who plans, investigates, coordinates, and manages such tasks. Interior design is a diverse occupation that includes conceptual development, area planning, site examinations, programming, investigation, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction management, and implementation of the design.

logo design done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Chandler, the personalities for letter V and A in center of the word advanced have been modified to tie straight into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Chandler logo design assignment was undertaken for a leadership advisor that aids business leaders to become more effective at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Chandler business logo design featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to market their used goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Chandler logo design design along with a graphic which captures the attention of vehicles and projects an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.

Logo style MQ farms, this Chandler company logo design has a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t actually produced for an Chandler area farm it was actually created for a commodities broker, and this particular creative logo was one of several which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to make a brand mark that projected self-confidence, financial success, and opulence.

Chandler Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo style feature for externally facing arrowhead as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the opportunity to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without understanding where the target is. Thankfully, in this case, I struck a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo design made for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is similar to a popular Chandler sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked directly with the proprietor to produce a business logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
