Nogales, Arizona Logo Design

Every new Nogales business knows they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly understand the crucial role their organization logo can make in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo works far better than another. A logo has a critical and lasting effect on the success of a business, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a business.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Nogales, Arizona companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require scrutiny, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will remain legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Nogales, Arizona coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee shop were launching in an old part of town and really wanted to cast an old-fashioned feel without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved the two jobs by creating a business logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as germs made for Nogales, Arizona medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that investigates the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine which deals with the clinical assessment of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more focus grabbing and much more memorable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog developed for a family members fun center in Nogales, Arizona.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Nogales, Arizona traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather project emotional journeys through the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Nogales logo design but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Nogales logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his scorn for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced opinions on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to design their business logo realize how vital a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the final result. Every logo job has it’s portion of obstacles, however the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Nogales, Arizona publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, but it really is the most essential part of a published book since it is usually the first thing a person sees in the book shop. With regard to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever have to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the things people tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to confering a spirit of airline flight and it was certainly a victory.

Nogales logo design used for advertising and marketing as well as a label design for Vintage Situation features an archaic font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be older cases. For this brand concept I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Nogales, Arizona, design include an arc with lines converging with it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs because it seems that each and every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually really love doing dental care logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family nonprofit, the logo features 4 characters startled in height to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to summarize specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style developed for a hair design workshop including a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo which projected a spirit of ease and class for their new hair studio. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious direction of creating simply a stylized orchid but instead crafted a logo that suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is generally the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the importance on the perception that they wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian equine logo design produced for a steed cattle ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show steeds.

Logo layout for a software program developer the layout features and also iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance behind a company logo is just as important as how it serves the company it stands for.

A logo design including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a location to market their pre-owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Nogales business logo dsign utilizing a graphic that garners the attention of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo layout has an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo design wasn’t really designed for an Nogales, Arizona regional farm it was in reality created for a products broker, and this creative logo was one of multiple which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to design an identity that projects assurance, success, and affluence.

Nogales Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style feature for externally encountering arrowhead and the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the freedom to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without knowing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this particular case, I nailed a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo design created for the use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is evocative a famous sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked closely with the proprietor to develop a business logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
