Sun City, Arizona Logo Design

Virtually every new Sun City venture understands that they need a logo, but few entrepreneurs entirely realize the vital role their company logo will take in their success, or exactly why one logo design functions better than another. A logo design has a critical and long term influence on the success of a company, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of an organization.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Sun City, Arizona businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require consideration, they can be understood in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will stay legible and just as emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Sun City, Arizona coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and bistro were launching in an old section of the city and wanted to cast an old-fashioned vibe without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I achieved both of these tasks by creating a custom logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and germs designed for Sun City, Arizona clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which investigates the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which works with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I remember in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves quite literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more captivating, more focus grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping green frog made for a family enjoyable center in Sun City, Arizona.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Sun City, Arizona traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather reveal emotional journeys by means of the images they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they often share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with just words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Sun City logo design but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Sun City logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I really savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but my client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his scorn for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get objective assessments on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really liked the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to create their business logo comprehend how important a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo design project has it’s allotment of hurdles, but the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Sun City, Arizona publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow segment of real estate to work with, but it is the most necessary part of a printed book because it is ordinarily the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will ever get to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it seems that in many occurrences one of the things people usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young fledgling commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a spirit of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Sun City logo design used for advertising and marketing as well as a tag style for Vintage Case includes an old typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be older cases. For this brand concept I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Sun City, Arizona, style consist of an arc with lines converging through it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo design jobs considering that it seems that virtually every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business advertising, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really really love doing dentistry logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a household not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the families in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo that carried a spirit of peace and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious path of designing just a stylized orchid but instead designed a company logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is generally the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the attention on the emotion that they wanted to project to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Coffee shop logo design a little restaurant, design includes a modified manuscript font style which hovers over a team of ornate lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software application designer the style functions and famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk management. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the owner of the company and in many cases the meaning supporting a logo design is just as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

A logo style featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a spot to sell off their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Sun City business logo dsign along with an illustration that grabs the attention of traffic and projects an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo design has an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo design wasn’t really developed for an Sun City, Arizona area farm it was in reality developed for a products broker, and this particular brand was one of multiple that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to create a brand mark that projects assurance, financial success, and prosperity.

Sun City Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo layout attribute for ostensibly encountering arrow and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design that they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the opportunity to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without knowing where the target is. Luckily, in this case, I hit a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo design created for making use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font style that is similar to a well-known sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked closely with the owner to develop a business logo that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
