Fort Smith, Arkansas Logo Design

Nearly every new Fort Smith company knows they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs entirely comprehend the vital role their company logo will perform in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo design functions better than another. A business logo has an instant and sustaining impact on the financial success of a company, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of an organization.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Fort Smith, Arkansas businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand deliberation, they can be comprehended in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to movie screens a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be timeless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.
Retro logo style of a bike created for a Fort Smith, Arkansas coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually launching in an older section of town and hoped to project an old-fashioned tone without appearing as boring or low energy. I accomplished both of these tasks by developing a custom logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and germs made for Fort Smith, Arkansas clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that examines the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that works with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog made for a family fun facility in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - developed for Fort Smith, Arkansas travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead communicate emotional experiences by means of the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they often convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with just words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Fort Smith logo design but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Fort Smith logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family did not share his scorn for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased assessments on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their logo comprehend how essential a logo design is for their organization so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo design project has it’s share of difficulties, but the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Fort Smith, Arkansas book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most critical part of a printed book given that it is usually the very first thing a person sees in the book shop. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will ever get to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go however it seems that in many instances one of the items folks tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a good sense of flight and it was definitely a success.

Fort Smith logo layout made use of for advertising and marketing and a label design for Vintage Case features an archaic font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be older cases. For this business logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that had a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Fort Smith, Arkansas, design consist of an arc with lines converging through it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging logo projects because it appears that each and every dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I actually love doing dental business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a household not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 personalities startled in height to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to describe exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that describes itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style produced for a hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo that conveyed a sense of calmness and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design that did not go the obvious route of making just a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a company logo that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is frequently the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the focus on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their customers.

Logo layout for a software program designer the layout functions as well as famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the substance supporting a company logo is just as important as how it brands the business it represents.

A logo style featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to sell their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Fort Smith business logo dsign with an illustration that captures the interest of vehicles and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo design has a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo design wasn’t actually developed for an Fort Smith, Arkansas area farm it was actually developed for an investments broker, and this logo was one of multiple which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. Fort Smith Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo layout attribute for externally dealing with arrow and the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design that they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the opportunity to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where the target is. Thankfully, in this case, I hit a bullseye with the first go.

Logo designed for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is similar to a popular sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked closely with the owner to create a business logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
