Alhambra, California Logo Design

Each and every new Alhambra business person understands that they require a logo, yet few new business owners entirely realize the key role their business logo will play in their financial success, or precisely why one logo performs more effectively than another. A company logo has an immediate and long-term influence on the financial success of a company, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a business.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Alhambra, California businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand scrutiny, they can be understood in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from labels to movie screens a scalable logo will remain legible and equally emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be timeless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.
Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Alhambra, California coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening up in an old part of the area and hoped to impart a retro atmosphere without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved both of these jobs through creating a custom logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is an ageless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and germs developed for Alhambra, California medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that studies the root causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which deals with the laboratory assessment of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo style with a jumping environment-friendly frog made for a family members fun center in Alhambra, California.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - created for Alhambra, California travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead convey emotional experiences through the images they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they frequently share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with just words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Alhambra logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Alhambra logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I truly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however my customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family didn’t share his aversion for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get objective viewpoints on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to design their logo design comprehend how vital a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo design project has it’s portion of obstacles, however the greatest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Alhambra, California book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, but it really is the most necessary part of a published book given that it is usually the very first thing a person views in the book store. Regarding a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever have to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems like that in many occurrences one of the things folks often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a spirit of air travel and it was surely a success.

Alhambra logo style utilized for advertising and also a label layout for Vintage Situation includes an archaic typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be much older cases. For this business logo design I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for everything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Alhambra, California, layout consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo projects because it seems that virtually every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household nonprofit, the logo design features 4 characters startled in elevation to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to summarize specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo style developed for a hair style studio including a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design that projected a spirit of calmness and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious course of making just a stylized orchid but rather created a company logo which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is frequently the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the importance on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo style for a software application designer the design functions and iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive managing. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a company logo is just as important as how it serves the company it represents.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to sell their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Alhambra logo design dsign using an illustration that garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo design has an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t really composed for an Alhambra, California regional farm it was actually developed for a commodities broker, and this particular brand was one of several which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to generate a brand mark that projects trust, effectiveness, and affluence.

Alhambra Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo layout function for outwardly dealing with arrow and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design they preferred, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the freedom to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without understanding where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I nailed a bullseye with the first go.

Logo design designed for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is similar to a renowned sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked directly with the proprietor to produce a business logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
