Aliso Viejo Logo Design

Each and every new Aliso Viejo venture understands that they need a logo, however few new business owners fully grasp the vital role their company logo can take in their becoming successful, or exactly why one business logo performs better than another. A company logo has an instant and sustaining impact on the prosperity of a business, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Aliso Viejo companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand scrutiny, they can be comprehended in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will remain legible and equally emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo design of a bicycle created for a Aliso Viejo coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually opening in an older part of town and wanted to project a retro tone without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled both of these tasks by means of designing a symbol design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and also germs developed for Aliso Viejo clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that examines the causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which deals with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more interesting, more focus grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog created for a family members fun facility in Aliso Viejo.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Aliso Viejo travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead project emotional experiences through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with just words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Aliso Viejo logo but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Aliso Viejo logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his contempt for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get objective judgements on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a weird creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their logo realize how essential a logo design is for their organization so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo project has it’s share of obstacles, however the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, design for Aliso Viejo book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, but it is the most important part of a printed book given that it is ordinarily the first thing a person views in the bookstore. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the opportunity that they will likely ever have to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it seems like that in many instances one of the traits folks usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young fledgling commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a feeling of flight and it was undoubtedly a success.

Aliso Viejo logo style used for advertising and marketing and also a label layout for Vintage Situation features an antiquated font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be vintage cases. For this business logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Aliso Viejo, style include an arc with lines converging through it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it appears that almost every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dentistry logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities staggered in height to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to illustrate precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair layout studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo that communicated an atmosphere of calmness and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious route of making merely a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a business logo which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is in most cases the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the importance on the perception that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software designer the layout features and iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it meant something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the substance supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the company it represents.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Aliso Viejo business logo dsign with a graphic that garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo design has actually an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand concept wasn’t actually designed for an Aliso Viejo regional farm it was in reality devised for an investments broker, and this particular company logo was one of many which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to produce a graphic that projects confidence, financial success, and affluence.
Logo created for the use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a famous sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked closely with the business owner to create a logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
