Arcadia Logo Design

Nearly every new Arcadia company knows they require a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly are aware of the pivotal role their company logo can make in their becoming successful, or the reason that one business logo performs better than another. A business logo has a critical and sustaining influence on the growth of a business, select the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Arcadia businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require consideration, they can be understood in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Arcadia coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening in an older part of the town and wished to cast a retro tone without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled each of the tasks by means of designing a sign concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide as well as germs made for Arcadia medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine which works with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I remember in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more captivating, more interest grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog created for a household fun facility in Arcadia.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Arcadia travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead reveal emotional experiences through the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they frequently share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something similar to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Arcadia logo but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Arcadia logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I truly savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his aversion for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced point of views on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they adored the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo design understand how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are way more vested in the final result. Every logo design project has it’s share of obstacles, but the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Arcadia book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most essential part of a printed book given that it is often the primary thing a person views in the bookstore. For a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever have to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it looks like that in many instances one of the items people often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a feeling of flight and it was undoubtedly a success.

Arcadia logo layout utilized for advertising and a label style for Vintage Case includes an antiquated font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be older cases. For this logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that had a fluid retro feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Arcadia, design include an arc with lines intersecting with it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects due to the fact that it appears that each and every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dentists do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really enjoy doing dental logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities staggered in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to illustrate specifically how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo design created for a hair style workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design which projected an atmosphere of peace and class for their new hair salon. I created a design which did not go the obvious path of crafting merely a stylized orchid but alternatively created a business logo that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is in most cases the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the main focus on the perception that they wanted to project to their customers.

Logo layout for a software application developer the layout functions and famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Arcadia logo design assignment was done for a management consultant that helps business professionals to develop into more efficient at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A logo design including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a spot to market their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Arcadia logo design dsign with an illustration that grabs the attention of traffic and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo design has actually a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t actually produced for an Arcadia area farm it was really developed for a commodities broker, and this company logo was one of a handful of that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to produce a graphic that projects assurance, effectiveness, and affluence.
Logo developed for the use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font that is reminiscent of a popular sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked directly with the business owner to design a business logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
