Arcata Logo Design

Every new Arcata company knows they require a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly recognize the crucial role their logo design can play in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo performs far better than another. A company logo has a critical and sustaining impact on the prosperity of a business, select the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Arcata businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand scrutiny, they can be realized in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will remain legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo design of a bicycle created for a Arcata coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening in an old section of the city and hoped to cast a retro atmosphere without coming across as boring or low energy. I accomplished the two jobs by means of designing a company logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and germs made for Arcata clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine which works with the clinical examination of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more captivating, more attention grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo style with a leaping eco-friendly frog developed for a household fun facility in Arcata.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and a tree - created for Arcata travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead reveal emotional journeys by means of the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they frequently share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something much the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Arcata logo but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Arcata logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design jobs that I take on I honestly relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his contempt for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge them to discuss it with colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased point of views on the value of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo design realize how crucial a logo design is for their company so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo design job possesses it’s portion of difficulties, but the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Arcata book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most necessary part of a published book because it is usually the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will likely ever have to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems like that in many occurrences 1 of the items folks tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small new venture commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a feeling of airline flight and it was surely a victory.

Arcata logo style utilized for marketing and a tag layout for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be older cases. For this logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Arcata, design include an arc with lines converging through it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects due to the fact that it appears that virtually every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dentists do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dental logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family nonprofit, the logo design features 4 characters startled in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to explain specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo style created for a hair design studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo that related a sense of peace and connection for their new hair salon. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious direction of designing simply a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is more often than not the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the attention on the perception that they wanted to forecast to their customers.

Arabian steed logo design produced for an equine cattle ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a one-of-a-kind brand concept customized to symbolize the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of horses. With a distinctive head form and high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most quite easily identifiable equine types in the entire world.

Logo style for a software application designer the design functions as well as renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it represents.

Progress logo design developed for a Arcata interior developer, layout attribute a collection of red circles that converge and also replace the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

logo layout provided for Advanced Management Solutions, the personalities for letter V as well as A in middle of the word progressed have been customized to link straight right into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Arcata logo design job was carried out for a leadership specialist that helps business leaders to become more efficient at handling people, expectations, and profitability.

A logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a place to sell their used items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Arcata business logo dsign utilizing an illustration that pulls in the interest of traffic and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo style has actually a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t actually designed for an Arcata regional farm it was really designed for an investments broker, and this business logo was one of many that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was really to develop a brand mark that projects confidence, success, and opulence.
Logo design made for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is reminiscent of a renowned sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked directly with the proprietor to produce a logo design which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
