Ashland Logo Design

Virtually every new Ashland business knows they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs entirely recognize the crucial role their logo design can take in their becoming successful, or exactly why one logo functions far better than another. A logo design has an instant and sustaining effect on the prosperity of a company, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Ashland businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand consideration, they can be grasped in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo design of a bike developed for a Ashland coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening in an old part of the community and really wanted to cast an old-fashioned atmosphere without appearing as boring or low energy. I fulfilled both tasks via developing a company logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as germs designed for Ashland medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that researches the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that works with the clinical assessment of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Usually I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog created for a family enjoyable facility in Ashland.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dentists, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - created for Ashland travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather convey emotional experiences through the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they often tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Ashland logo design but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Ashland logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get honest assessments on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their logo understand how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo design job has it’s portion of hurdles, but the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for Ashland publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, but it is the most critical part of a printed book considering that it is ordinarily the primary thing a person sees in the book store. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will ever have to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it looks like that in many instances 1 of the aspects individuals usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a spirit of flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Ashland logo design used for marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Situation features an archaic font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be vintage cases. For this business logo design I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a website to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Ashland, style consist of an arc with lines converging with it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo jobs considering that it seems that virtually every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really enjoy doing dentist logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 personalities startled in elevation to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to explain how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that describes itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo which carried an atmosphere of ease and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious route of creating simply a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a company logo which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is frequently the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the attention on the perception that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe logo style a small restaurant, design includes a modified script font style which hovers over a group of ornate lines and also dots.

Logo layout for a software program designer the design attributes as well as famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the significance behind a logo is just as important as how it brands the business it represents.

Evolve logo style developed for a Ashland interior developer, layout attribute a collection of red circles that converge and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

A logo design including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a spot to sell off their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Ashland business logo dsign utilizing an image that grabs the interest of vehicles and projects an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo design has actually an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t actually produced for an Ashland area farm it was really designed for a commodities broker, and this creative logo was one of a handful of that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to produce an identity that projected self-confidence, financial success, and opulence.
Logo made for the use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script typeface that is reminiscent of a well-known sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked closely with the proprietor to develop a business logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
