Avocado Heights Logo Design

Every new Avocado Heights company knows they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs fully comprehend the essential role their organization logo will perform in their success, or why one logo functions better than another. A logo has an instant and sustaining influence on the growth of a company, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Avocado Heights businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require deliberation, they can be understood in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo style of a bicycle created for a Avocado Heights coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening in an old section of the town and wanted to cast an old-fashioned vibe without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved both of these jobs by developing a trademark concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and also germs made for Avocado Heights clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which analyzes the causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that works with the laboratory assessment of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I recollect where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents very literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping environment-friendly frog made for a household fun center in Avocado Heights.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - developed for Avocado Heights travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead communicate emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they frequently convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something the same to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Avocado Heights logo design but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Avocado Heights logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I honestly relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his aversion for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced opinions on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logo designs are a weird creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo design realize how crucial a logo is for their business so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo design job has it’s portion of obstacles, however the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Avocado Heights book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most necessary part of a printed book due to the fact that it is often the primary thing a person views in the bookstore. For a publishing company, it’s the opportunity that they will ever have to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the items folks usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a sense of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Avocado Heights logo layout utilized for advertising and a tag style for Vintage Instance includes an old font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this brand design I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Avocado Heights, design consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo design jobs because it seems that every single dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dental care business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities startled in height to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to summarize specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo style produced for a hair style workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo that communicated a feeling of peace and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious course of designing merely a stylized orchid but rather delivered a logo design that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is generally the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the importance on the emotion that they really wanted to transmit to their customers.

Logo layout for a software program designer the style attributes and iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the owner of the company and in many cases the significance behind a business logo is just as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to market their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Avocado Heights business logo dsign using an illustration which pulls in the interest of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo layout has a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t really created for an Avocado Heights area farm it was really developed for a commodities broker, and this particular creative logo was one of a handful of that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to generate an identity that projected confidence, success, and opulence.
Logo made for the use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is evocative a popular sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed quite a lot of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked closely with the proprietor to produce a logo design that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
