Bakersfield, California Logo Design

Each and every new Bakersfield organization understands that they are in need of a logo, however few entrepreneurs fully understand the essential role their organization logo will perform in their success, or exactly why one business logo performs far better than another. A logo design has a critical and sustaining effect on the success of a company, pick the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of an organization.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Bakersfield, California businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require contemplation, they can be realized in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and just as emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Bakersfield, California coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening up in an older part of town and hoped to visualize an old-fashioned tone without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs by developing a company logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria designed for Bakersfield, California medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that investigates the triggers and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that deals with the laboratory assessment of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo style with a jumping environment-friendly frog created for a household enjoyable center in Bakersfield, California.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more lively high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Bakersfield, California traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather convey emotional journeys through the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they often convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Bakersfield logo but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Bakersfield logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design jobs that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his contempt for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get neutral assessments on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo design recognize how vital a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo design job has it’s portion of difficulties, but the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, layout for Bakersfield, California book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most necessary part of a printed book because it is in most cases the first thing a person sees in the book store. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the opportunity that they will likely ever have to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it seems like that in many cases one of the traits individuals usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to confering a sense of airline flight and it was certainly a victory.

Bakersfield logo layout used for advertising as well as a tag style for Vintage Situation includes an antiquated font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this logo design I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Bakersfield, California, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that virtually every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually really love doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 personalities surprised in height to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to summarize how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that describes itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo style produced for a hair design studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo which communicated a sense of relaxation and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious route of making just a stylized orchid but instead designed a company logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is frequently the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the importance on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their customers.

Arabian horse logo layout created for a steed ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a distinct brand concept customized to display the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of horses. By having a different head form and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most immediately identifiable horse breeds in the world.

Las Coffee shop logo style a tiny dining establishment, layout contains a modified manuscript font which floats over a group of luxuriant lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo style a small dining establishment, design includes a modified manuscript font which hovers over a group of elaborate lines as well as dots.

Logo style for a software application designer the layout functions and also famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance behind a company logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

logo layout done for Advanced Management Solutions, the personalities for letter V and A in middle of the word advanced have actually been modified to connect straight into the words listed below.

A logo design including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a spot to sell their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Bakersfield logo dsign using an image that seizes the interest of traffic and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo style has a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t really developed for an Bakersfield, California regional farm it was actually devised for a products broker, and this particular logo was one of several which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to produce an identity that projects self-assurance, success, and affluence.

Bakersfield Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo layout function for externally facing arrow and the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design they would like, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the flexibility to discover any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without recognizing where the target is. Thankfully, in this case, I hit a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo design made for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font that is evocative a well-known sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted quite a lot of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked directly with the owner to produce a business logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
