TIPS FOR DETERMINING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design firm presents a money back guarantee try to remember that they can not reimburse the amount of time you invest which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many designers talk a good game but ultimately a design agency can only be determined from the quality of their design work, if the work in their portfolio does not contain actual examples chances are they won’t be able to deliver a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be understood and be unforgettable, and it’s objective is to echo your personal vision for your organization. If a designer isn’t focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how quickly they can get paid.

Banning LOGO DESIGN

For over twenty years ImageCo has been helping entrepreneurs develop unforgettable brand identities. We’ve done logo design work for mechanics, schools, heart surgeons, wedding singers, coffee roasters, retail stores, and practically every other kind of business concern you can imagine. What makes us different compared to our competitors is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every design as if it will be employed as an electric sign. Because of our sign first strategy our designs can, and have been employed in everything from garment labels to neon signs. Our sign first technique guarantees that our logos are equally reliable whether they are used in TV commercials or web apps, they are consistently recognizable, comprehended, and always remembered no matter of size or purpose.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference which truly sets ImageCo apart from other design firms that you probably have encountered online, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every project we are contracted to do, we do in-house. No matter the type of project we accept, logo design, website design, trade show display, or electric sign, we do not, and never will job out our client’s work to companies located outside the United States. Whenever you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that answers the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that increases the cost of your design project and determines the terms of how my customers and I do business.

ASPECTS OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new Banning company understands that they probably need a logo, however few start-ups entirely recognize the pivotal role their organization’s logo will play in their becoming successful, or exactly why one logo functions more effectively than another. A company logo has an immediate and sustaining influence on the financial success of a business, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Banning businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t need scrutiny, they can be understood in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to retail signs a scalable logo will stay legible and just as emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the product or organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be ageless and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

understanding branding

Brand – It is both a verb and a noun, it is an identifying mark and the process of noting something to ensure that it could be identified, its foundation originates from the brand burned onto animals. Today a brand indicates basically anything with a motive, whether it be revenue or politics, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of defining the value of a specific thing in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like marketing and advertising’s attractive cousin, they are all from the same family, the distinction being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity competition aimed at a target market, it’s goal is to produce a mental image that the audience will connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing and also identity design. When someone states the brand names Lamborghini or Mustang what we think about is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can carry us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, beauty, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and that is what makes people buy those brands. Brand image is why individuals purchase specific brands, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can relate to.

Branding Companies – If you reflect on the history of a lot of branding companies you’ll discover that they are frequently rebranded marketing and advertising companies. When somebody says they are in advertising the majority of people will likely have an idea about what they do. Yet when somebody claims “I am in branding”… it simply sounds much more impressive, perhaps it’s due to the fact that the majority of people don’t know what it indicates to be in branding so it comes off as mysterious and kind of sexy.

Brand Identity – Is an inclusive term that defines the visual components of a product or company that affect understandings. This primarily includes the name, the logo design, the product packaging, the colors used however can likewise consist of sound, lights, texture, signs, really anything that can be seen, felt or listened to belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a designer that concentrates on a kind of visual design which helps form the perception of a firm, a product or an institution. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, and collateral material such as cards, stationery, as well as sales brochures. Some identity designers also develop websites as well as software interfaces. The vital role of a brand identity designer is to establish the visual cues and also a psychological tone with the objective of affecting activities, results and perceptions.

Featured signs/logos

Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Banning coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were opening up in an older part of the city and wanted to visualize a vintage tone without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled each of the jobs by designing a custom logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and germs designed for Banning clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that works with the laboratory examination of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I remember where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves quite literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog created for a household enjoyable center in Banning.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - created for Banning travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead communicate emotional experiences by means of the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they often tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Banning logo design but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Banning logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I truly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his contempt for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to share it with colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get impartial assessments on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they really liked the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo design realize how vital a logo design is for their business so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo job possesses it’s portion of obstacles, but the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, design for Banning book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, but it really is the most important part of a published book since it is often the very first thing a person views in the bookstore. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will ever have to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects consumers often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a good sense of airline flight and it was definitely a success.

Banning logo style utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Case includes an old font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this brand design I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Banning, design include an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that virtually every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really love doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a household nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities staggered in height to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to summarize how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo layout developed for a Banning hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo that carried an atmosphere of relaxation and class for their new hair studio. I created a concept which didn’t go the obvious path of crafting simply a stylized orchid but rather designed a logo which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is usually the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the focus on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their customers.

Arabian steed logo layout produced for an equine cattle ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a unique brand concept customized to embody the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of horses. With an identifiable head form and high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the highly immediately identifiable horse breeds in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A Banning Coffee shop logo style a small dining establishment, style consists of a customized manuscript font style which hovers over a team of ornate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a tiny dining establishment, style includes a modified manuscript font which floats over a group of ornate lines as well as dots.

Logo layout for a software program developer the style features and also legendary Banning element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the substance supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the business it represents.

Evolve logo style developed for a Banninginterior developer, design attribute a series of red circles that intersect and change the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Banning interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who prepares, explores, collaborates, and manages such tasks. Interior design is a multifaceted occupation that consists of conceptual development, space planning, site evaluations, programming, research study, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction management, and execution of the design.

logo design provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Banning, the characters for letter V and also A in center of words progressed have actually been modified to link directly right into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Banning logo design assignment was completed for a management specialist that assists business leaders to become more effective at overseeing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Banning business logo design featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a spot to market their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Banning logo design design utilizing an illustration that garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

Logo layout MQ farms, this Banning company logo style has a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t really designed for an Banning regional farm it was in reality devised for an investments broker, and this particular trademark was one of a handful of that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to produce a graphic that projects esteem, effectiveness, and prosperity.

Banning Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo design feature for outwardly facing arrowhead and the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the freedom to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where the target is. Luckily, in this case, I struck a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo made for the use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is similar to a popular Banning sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked closely with the owner to produce a logo design which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
