Barstow Heights Logo Design

Nearly every new Barstow Heights company understands that they require a logo, however few entrepreneurs fully are aware of the key role their company logo will perform in their becoming successful, or exactly why one logo functions more effectively than another. A logo has a critical and lasting influence on the financial success of a company, select the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Barstow Heights businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand contemplation, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.

Retro logo design of a bicycle produced for a Barstow Heights coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an older section of town and wanted to visualize a nostalgic feel without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved each of the jobs via designing a business logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and also germs developed for Barstow Heights medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that deals with the laboratory examination of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I remember in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more captivating, more interest grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping green frog made for a household fun facility in Barstow Heights.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and also a tree - created for Barstow Heights travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather convey emotional experiences through the images they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they often tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Barstow Heights logo design but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Barstow Heights logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced point of views on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to create their business logo understand how essential a logo is for their organization so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo project possesses it’s share of obstacles, however the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, layout for Barstow Heights book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, but it really is the most important part of a printed book considering that it is usually the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever have to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it seems like that in many instances 1 of the traits consumers tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young fledgling commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a sense of flight and it was certainly a success.

Barstow Heights logo layout utilized for advertising as well as a label design for Vintage Situation features an old typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be older cases. For this business logo design I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Barstow Heights, design consist of an arc with lines converging with it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects because it appears that virtually every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dental care business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to explain precisely how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo which conveyed a sense of relaxation and connection for their new hair salon. I created a design which did not go the obvious direction of making simply a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a business logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is usually the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the focus on the perception that they wanted to project to their customers.

Logo design for a software designer the layout functions and also legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk operations. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism behind a company logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

A logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly realized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to market their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Barstow Heights logo dsign using an illustration that pulls in the attention of traffic and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo style has actually a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t actually designed for an Barstow Heights regional farm it was in reality devised for a products broker, and this logo design was one of many that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to produce a graphic that projects assurance, effectiveness, and wealth.
Logo design created for making use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is similar to a well-known sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked directly with the owner to create a logo design which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
