STRATEGIES ON PICKING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design firm presents a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they simply cannot reimburse the time you invest which is eminently more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some design firms talk a good game but in the end a design firm can only be judged by the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their portfolio doesn’t feature real world examples chances are they will not be able to deliver a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be recognized and be unforgettable, and it’s objective is to reflect your personal vision for your business. If a logo designer isn’t focused on realizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how quickly they will get paid.

Brawley LOGO DESIGN

For over two decades ImageCo has been helping business owners develop notable brands. We’ve undertaken brand identity design work for ranchers, colleges, diamond miners, wedding singers, restaurants, retailers, and virtually every other kind of business concern you can imagine. What makes ImageCo different compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every design as if it will be utilized as an electrical sign. As a result of our sign first technique our identity designs can, and have been used in everything from clothing labels to billboards. Our sign first technique guarantees that our logos are just as effective whether they are used in television commercials or web apps, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and remembered no matter of scale or use.

American Made ★ Design

Something which truly sets ImageCo apart from other design companies that you might have encountered in Google’s search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every project we are brought on board to do, we do ourselves. Regardless of the type of design project we undertake, brand identity design, web site, trade show booth, or commercial sign, we do not, and never will farm-out our client’s projects to organizations based outside the USA. Whenever you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that answers the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that increases the cost of your project and imposes the terms of how my customers and I conduct business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A POWERFUL LOGO DESIGN

Virtually every new Brawley business understands that they require a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly understand the crucial role their organization’s logo will perform in their success, or precisely why one logo performs far better than another. A business logo has a critical and long-term influence on the prosperity of a company, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Brawley businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require scrutiny, they can be grasped in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from label to posters a scalable logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the product or company they brand.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be enduring and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

understanding branding

Brand – It is a verb and a noun, it’s an identifying mark and the act of noting something so that it can be distinguished, its origin originates from the mark burned onto animals. Nowadays a brand signifies pretty much anything with an intention, regardless if it be profit or government agencies, a brand is an innate aspect of specifying the value of something in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like marketing and advertising’s sexy cousin, they are all from the same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising have to do with making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity competition directed at a target audience, it’s goal is to create a mental image that the target market will identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated by advertising and marketing and also identity design. When somebody states the names Ferrari or Mustang what we consider is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, elegance, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals purchase those brands. Brand image is why individuals purchase most things, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can identify with.

Branding Firms – If you look back at the origin of the majority of branding firms you’ll discover that they are quite often rebranded advertising and marketing firms. When somebody says they are in marketing most people will likely have a preconceived notion about what they do. However when somebody says “I am in branding”… it simply sounds more impressive, possibly it’s since many people don’t know what it suggests to be in branding so it comes off as mysterious and sexy.

Brand Identity – Is an inclusive term that explains the visual elements of a product or agency that influence view points. This largely consists of the name, the logo, the product packaging, the different colors utilized but can also include sound, illumination, texture, signage, just about anything that can be seen, felt or heard are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that focuses on a kind of visual design that helps form the image of a firm, a product or a company. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, and also collateral material such as cards, stationery, and also sales brochures. Some visual designers also design sites and user interfaces. The crucial function of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues and also an emotional tone with the objective of affecting actions, outcomes and also understandings.

select signs/logos

Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Brawley coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening in an older part of town and wished to project a retro vibe without coming across as boring or low energy. I fulfilled both tasks by means of developing a custom logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as bacteria created for Brawley medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the field of medicine which works with the laboratory evaluation of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I recall where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents very literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping green frog developed for a family fun facility in Brawley.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and a tree - developed for Brawley travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead reveal emotional journeys through the images they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they frequently tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I attempted to do something comparable to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Brawley logo design but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Brawley logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I seriously take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however my customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man really despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his hatred for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get honest point of views on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo design recognize how vital a logo is for their organization so they are way more vested in the final result. Every logo job possesses it’s share of difficulties, however the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for Brawley publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, but it really is the most critical part of a published book considering that it is often the initial thing a person views in the book shop. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will likely ever get to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects individuals tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a feeling of flight and it was definitely a victory.

Brawley logo design used for marketing and a label style for Vintage Case features an archaic font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be antique cases. For this custom logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Brawley, style consist of an arc with lines converging with it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that virtually every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really love doing dental care logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a household nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities staggered in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to explain how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style produced for a Brawley hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo that communicated a spirit of calmness and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious direction of creating just a stylized orchid but instead crafted a business logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is generally the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the emphasis on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their clients.

Arabian steed logo style developed for a steed ranch that specializes in breeding Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a one-of-a-kind logotype design tailored to display the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of equines. By having an unique head form and higher tail posture, the Arabian is one of the highly easily recognizable equine types in the world.

Las Cafe, A Brawley restaurant logo layout a tiny restaurant, layout includes a modified script font style which hovers over a team of ornate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo layout a small dining establishment, layout includes a changed manuscript typeface which hovers above a team of luxuriant lines and also dots.

Logo design for a software application designer the layout attributes and also famous Brawley component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk management. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance supporting a logo design is just as important as how it brands the company it represents.

Develop logo layout developed for a Brawleyindoor designer, layout feature a series of red circles that converge and also replace the letter O in the center of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Brawley interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who organizes, explores, collaborates, and manages such projects. Interior design is a diverse profession that consists of conceptual development, area planning, site inspections, programming, research, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction management, and implementation of the design.

logo layout done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Brawley, the characters for letter V as well as A in center of the word progressed have actually been changed to connect directly into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Brawley logo design project was completed for a management advisor that assists business leaders to become more successful at supervising people, expectations, and productivity.

A Brawley business logo layout including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a spot to sell off their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Brawley logo design along with an illustration that garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.

Logo style MQ farms, this Brawley company logo layout has an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t really created for an Brawley regional farm it was actually designed for an investments broker, and this particular business logo was one of a handful of that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to design a graphic that projects self-confidence, success, and luxury.

Brawley Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo design attribute for ostensibly encountering arrowhead as well as the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design that they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the liberty to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye without realizing where the target is. Luckily, in this case, I hit a bullseye with the very first shot.

Logo design made for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a popular Brawley sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked closely with the business owner to produce a logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
