STRATEGIES FOR FINDING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design company presents a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they can’t refund the time you invest which is much more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many designers talk a good game but ultimately a design firm can only be evaluated from the quality of their design work, if the work in their portfolio does not contain real world samples chances are they won’t be able to produce a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be understood and remembered, and it’s goal is to echo your personal vision for your organization. If a logo designer isn’t focused on realizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how soon they will get paid.

Camarillo LOGO DESIGN

For over 20 years ImageCo has been helping small business owners cultivate notable brands. We’ve performed brand identity design work for ranchers, colleges, heart surgeons, wedding singers, cafes, retail stores, and just about every other kind of business concern you can envision. What makes us unique compared to our competitors is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every logo design project as if it will be utilized as an electric sign. As a result of our sign first method our designs can, and have been employed in everything from fashion labels to billboards. Our sign first method insures that our logos are equally effective whether they are used in TV commercials or website headers, they are consistently recognizable, understood, and remembered no matter of scale or use.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference that truly sets ImageCo apart from many of the design agencies that you probably have encountered online, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every design project we are hired to do, we perform in-house. No matter the kind of project we take on, business logo, web page, trade show booth, or electrical sign, we do not, and never will job out our client’s work to companies based outside the US. Whenever you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a middleman that marks up the price of your project and imposes the terms of how my customers and I do business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A POWERFUL LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new Camarillo business understands that they require a logo, however few new business owners fully realize the pivotal role their organization’s logo can perform in their success, or exactly why one logo design works more effectively than another. A business logo has a critical and lasting impact on the growth of a company, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Camarillo businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require consideration, they can be grasped in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to billboards a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the item or organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be ageless and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

understanding branding

Brand – It’s a verb and a noun, it’s an identifying mark as well as the act of denoting something to make sure that it can be identified, its foundation originates from the brand branded onto animals. These days a brand represents pretty much anything with an intention, whether it be profit or government agencies, a brand is an innate aspect of defining the worth of a specific thing in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s attractive cousin, they are both from the very same family, the distinction being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest aimed at a target market, it’s objective is to produce a mental image that the audience will likely relate to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured by advertising and marketing and also identity design. When somebody states the names Lamborghini or Mustang what we think of is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can deliver us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, elegance, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and that is what makes people buy those brands. Brand image is why people purchase most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can identify with.

Branding Firms – If you reflect on the beginning of a lot of branding companies you’ll discover that they are often rebranded advertising agencies. When somebody says they are in advertising and marketing most people will likely have an idea about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, touched or listened to belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a designer that concentrates on a kind of visual design that helps form the image of a company, a product or a business. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, sign designs, packaging, and also collateral material such as business cards, stationery, as well as pamphlets. Some visual designers also build web sites as well as software interfaces. The important function of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues as well as an emotional tone with the goal of influencing actions, end results and also perceptions.

select signs/logos

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Camarillo coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually launching in an old section of town and wanted to visualize a retro atmosphere without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled the two jobs via creating a logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria created for Camarillo clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that analyzes the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare that deals with the laboratory assessment of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I recollect in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more captivating, more focus grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog developed for a family enjoyable center in Camarillo.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and a tree - made for Camarillo travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead project emotional experiences through the images they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Camarillo logo but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Camarillo logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however my customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his aversion for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get impartial assessments on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their business logo realize how essential a logo is for their business so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo project possesses it’s allotment of hurdles, but the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Camarillo book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most important part of a printed book since it is in most cases the very first thing a person sees in the book shop. For a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will ever have to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it seems that in many cases one of the items individuals usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small startup commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a good sense of airline flight and it was definitely a victory.

Camarillo logo style utilized for marketing and a label style for Vintage Situation includes an archaic font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be much older cases. For this logo design I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could be used for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Camarillo, design consist of an arc with lines converging through it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design jobs due to the fact that it appears that every single dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business advertising, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dentists do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really love doing dentist logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family members nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to explain how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that explains itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a Camarillo hair layout studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design which carried a spirit of tranquility and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design that did not go the obvious direction of making simply a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a company logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is generally the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the main focus on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Arabian equine logo style developed for a horse cattle ranch that specializes in breeding Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a distinct custom logo design styled to embody the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of equines. With a different head shape and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most immediately recognizable equine breeds in the world.

Las Cafe, A Camarillo Coffee shop logo style a tiny restaurant, design contains a changed manuscript font which floats over a team of ornate lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo layout a small dining establishment, layout includes a customized manuscript font style which floats over a group of ornate lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software developer the style functions as well as famous Camarillo element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance behind a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

Develop logo layout developed for a Camarillointerior developer, design attribute a collection of red circles that intersect and replace the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Camarillo interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a person who prepares, researches, collaborates, and manages such projects. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that includes conceptual development, area planning, site examinations, programming, research study, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, construction supervision, and implementation of the design.

logo design done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Camarillo, the characters for letter V and A in middle of the word progressed have actually been modified to connect straight right into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Camarillo logo design job was carried out for a leadership consultant that helps business professionals to become more effective at handling people, expectations, and productivity.

A Camarillo business logo design including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly knew the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a spot to market their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Camarillo logo design utilizing an illustration that captures the interest of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.

Logo layout MQ farms, this Camarillo company logo style has an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t actually designed for an Camarillo regional farm it was really created for a commodities broker, and this particular company was one of several that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to produce an identity that projects confidence, success, and wealth.

Camarillo Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo style feature for externally facing arrowhead and also the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design that they would like, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the flexibility to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without realizing where the target is. Luckily, in this instance, I nailed a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo developed for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font that is reminiscent of a popular Camarillo sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked directly with the business owner to design a logo design that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
