Carmichael Logo Design

Each and every new Carmichael venture realizes that they are in need of a logo, however few entrepreneurs fully grasp the vital role their logo design can play in their financial success, or why one logo design performs better than another. A company logo has a critical and long-term effect on the success of a business, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Carmichael businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require consideration, they can be grasped in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will stay legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Retro logo design of a bicycle developed for a Carmichael coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an older part of the city and wanted to project an old-fashioned feel without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I achieved both jobs by means of developing a sign design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide as well as bacteria designed for Carmichael medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine that works with the laboratory examination of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recollect in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents very literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping environment-friendly frog developed for a family members fun center in Carmichael.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and a tree - created for Carmichael travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead convey emotional experiences by means of the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they frequently convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Carmichael logo design but also to illustrate the depth in her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Carmichael logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design projects that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however my client, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family did not share his aversion for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get honest opinions on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their business logo realize how crucial a logo design is for their company so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo design project has it’s allotment of challenges, however the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Carmichael publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, yet it is the most crucial part of a printed book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever get to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it seems like that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects people often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a feeling of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Carmichael logo style utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a tag design for Vintage Situation includes an old-fashioned font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be antique cases. For this business logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be used for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Carmichael, layout include an arc with lines converging with it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs because it appears that virtually every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dental care logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family members nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities staggered in height to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to illustrate exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair design studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo which related a sense of peace and connection for their new hair salon. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious route of making merely a stylized orchid but rather delivered a company logo which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is oftentimes the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the main focus on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Logo style for a software program developer the style attributes and also famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it brands the company it represents.

A logo design featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Carmichael logo design dsign with a graphic that garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo design has an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem design wasn’t really composed for an Carmichael regional farm it was in reality created for a commodities broker, and this brand was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to develop a graphic that projects self-confidence, effectiveness, and prosperity.
Logo design designed for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font style that is similar to a famous sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the proprietor to develop a business logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
