Cerritos Logo Design

Each and every new Cerritos company knows they need a logo, however few new business owners fully understand the crucial role their logo will take in their success, or exactly why one business logo performs more effectively than another. A logo has an immediate and long-term impact on the prosperity of a company, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Cerritos businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require consideration, they can be understood in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will be legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Cerritos coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually launching in an old part of the area and wanted to project a nostalgic atmosphere without coming across as boring or low energy. I fulfilled each of the tasks by means of creating a logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria designed for Cerritos clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that examines the root causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of healthcare that deals with the laboratory assessment of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the only instance I remember in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents very literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more interesting, more focus grabbing and more memorable.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog developed for a household fun center in Cerritos.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - developed for Cerritos travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather convey emotional experiences by means of the images they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they frequently share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Cerritos logo design but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Cerritos logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but the customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family did not share his hatred for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased assessments on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their business logo realize how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo project possesses it’s allotment of obstacles, however the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Cerritos publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, but it is the most important part of a printed book given that it is usually the initial thing a person views in the book store. Regarding a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever have to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it looks like that in many occurrences one of the things people often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a good sense of airline flight and it was surely a winner.

Cerritos logo layout utilized for advertising and a label style for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this custom logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Cerritos, style consist of an arc with lines converging via it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo jobs due to the fact that it seems that virtually every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really love doing dentist logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters startled in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to describe specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair layout workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo that conveyed an atmosphere of contentment and class for their new hair studio. I created a design which did not go the obvious path of making simply a stylized orchid but rather crafted a business logo that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is more often than not the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the focus on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their customers.

Logo design for a software developer the style functions as well as renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in many cases the significance supporting a business logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly realized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to sell their used products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Cerritos logo design dsign utilizing a graphic which garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo design has actually a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t really developed for an Cerritos regional farm it was in reality created for a commodities broker, and this particular business logo was one of several which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to create a brand mark that projected self-assurance, effectiveness, and prosperity.
Logo design made for making use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font style that is reminiscent of a renowned sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked directly with the proprietor to produce a business logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
