Chatsworth Logo Design

Nearly every new Chatsworth company realizes that they require a logo, yet few new business owners entirely comprehend the key role their business logo will make in their financial success, or why one business logo functions far better than another. A company logo has an immediate and lasting influence on the growth of a business, select the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Chatsworth businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand scrutiny, they can be realized in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will be legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle developed for a Chatsworth coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and bistro were actually launching in an old part of the town and wanted to visualize a retro feel without coming across as boring or low energy. I fulfilled both of these jobs via creating a business logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria designed for Chatsworth medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that examines the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that deals with the laboratory evaluation of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I remember in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more interesting, more interest grabbing and much more memorable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a family members fun center in Chatsworth.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Chatsworth traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but rather project emotional experiences through the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they often convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I made an effort to do something the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Chatsworth logo design but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Chatsworth logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design projects that I take on I genuinely relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family did not share his aversion for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial assessments on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo design comprehend how essential a logo is for their organization so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo design job possesses it’s share of hurdles, but the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for Chatsworth publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin piece of real estate to work with, yet it is the most essential part of a printed book because it is often the first thing a person sees in the book store. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever get to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it looks like that in many cases 1 of the traits folks tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a spirit of airline flight and it was certainly a success.

Chatsworth logo style utilized for advertising and marketing and a label style for Vintage Situation includes an antiquated typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be much older cases. For this brand concept I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Chatsworth, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs considering that it seems that virtually every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a household nonprofit, the logo features 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to describe exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that describes itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout created for a hair design workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design which related a feeling of peace and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious course of making merely a stylized orchid but instead designed a business logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is generally the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the importance on the feeling that they wanted to project to their clients.

Las Cafe logo layout a little restaurant, design consists of a modified script font which floats above a group of ornate lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software developer the design attributes and also famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism behind a logo design is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

Advance logo style developed for a Chatsworth interior designer, layout attribute a series of red circles that converge and also change the letter O in the center of the logo layout.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to sell off their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Chatsworth logo dsign utilizing a graphic that grabs the interest of traffic and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo style has a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t actually designed for an Chatsworth area farm it was in reality developed for a products broker, and this logo design was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to design a image that projects esteem, financial success, and wealth.
Logo design created for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script typeface that is similar to a well-known sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked closely with the proprietor to develop a business logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
