Coachella Logo Design

Every new Coachella venture understands that they are in need of a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly comprehend the pivotal role their company logo can take in their financial success, or exactly why one logo design works better than another. A business logo has an instant and sustaining influence on the growth of a business, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Coachella companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require consideration, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will be legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bike created for a Coachella coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and cafe were opening in an old section of the city and wanted to cast a vintage vibe without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I achieved the two jobs by means of creating a custom logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and germs created for Coachella clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare that deals with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I remember where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Generally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more appealing, more attention grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping green frog designed for a household enjoyable center in Coachella.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dentists, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - developed for Coachella traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead convey emotional journeys through the photos they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they frequently share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I made an effort to do something much the same to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Coachella logo design but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Coachella logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced assessments on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo realize how essential a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job has it’s allotment of difficulties, but the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Coachella book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, however it really is the most important part of a printed book given that it is often the first thing a person sees in the book store. With regard to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever have to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go yet it seems like that in many instances 1 of the things individuals tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a feeling of flight and it was definitely a success.

Coachella logo layout made use of for advertising and marketing and a tag style for Vintage Instance includes an old-fashioned font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be vintage cases. For this brand design I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a website to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Coachella, layout consist of an arc with lines converging through it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most difficult logo jobs considering that it seems that every single dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dentists do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I actually love doing dental care logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities staggered in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to describe exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout developed for a hair layout workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo design that communicated a feeling of relaxation and connection for their new hair salon. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious direction of crafting merely a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a company logo which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is in most cases the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the emphasis on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian steed logo design developed for an equine cattle ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a one-of-a-kind brand design styled to symbolize the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of horses. With a different head shape and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the most quite easily recognizable equine lineages in the whole world.

Las Cafe logo design a little restaurant, layout includes a customized manuscript typeface which floats above a group of luxuriant lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a little dining establishment, layout consists of a modified manuscript font style which floats over a team of elaborate lines and also dots.

Logo design for a software designer the layout features and also famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk operations. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance behind a logo is just as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

Evolve logo layout developed for a Coachella indoor designer, layout function a collection of red circles that converge and replace the letter O in the center of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

A logo design featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to market their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Coachella logo design dsign using a graphic that garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo layout has an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t really composed for an Coachella regional farm it was really designed for a commodities broker, and this particular logo was one of multiple that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to create a graphic that projects self-confidence, effectiveness, and opulence.
Logo developed for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is evocative a renowned sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked closely with the owner to design a logo design which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
