Corcoran Logo Design

Virtually every new Corcoran organization understands that they are in need of a logo, but few new business owners entirely comprehend the essential role their business logo will make in their financial success, or precisely why one logo design performs far better than another. A logo has an instant and long-term influence on the financial success of a company, select the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Corcoran businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require consideration, they can be understood in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will stay legible and just as emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bicycle produced for a Corcoran coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually launching in an old part of town and wanted to project a nostalgic feel without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled the two jobs by developing a symbol design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as bacteria made for Corcoran medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which works with the clinical evaluation of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I call to mind in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves quite literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a family members fun center in Corcoran.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Corcoran traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather communicate emotional journeys through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Corcoran logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Corcoran logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his hatred for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get objective point of views on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo design recognize how essential a logo is for their business so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo project has it’s share of difficulties, however the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Corcoran publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, but it is the most important part of a published book since it is in most cases the very first thing a person views in the bookstore. For a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever get to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it looks like that in many instances one of the aspects folks usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a spirit of flight and it was definitely a success.

Corcoran logo layout utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a label design for Vintage Instance includes an archaic typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that looked to be much older cases. For this business logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another era.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Corcoran, layout include an arc with lines converging via it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design projects due to the fact that it appears that virtually every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dental care logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters surprised in height to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the families in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to illustrate exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a hair design workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo that related a feeling of peace and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious route of designing merely a stylized orchid but rather delivered a company logo which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is in most cases the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the focus on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software programmer the style functions and renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the meaning behind a business logo is just as important as how it brands the company it represents.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly knew the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a location to market their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Corcoran logo design dsign along with an illustration that seizes the interest of traffic and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo layout has a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo design wasn’t actually composed for an Corcoran area farm it was really devised for a products broker, and this particular logo was one of multiple that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to generate a brand mark that projects self-assurance, success, and prosperity.
Logo design created for the use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font style that is evocative a renowned sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked closely with the business owner to develop a logo design that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
