Cupertino Logo Design

Every new Cupertino company knows they require a logo, yet few entrepreneurs fully realize the key role their logo can take in their financial success, or exactly why one logo performs far better than another. A business logo has an immediate and sustaining impact on the success of a company, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Cupertino companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand deliberation, they can be understood in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Retro logo design of a bicycle developed for a Cupertino coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening up in an old section of the town and really wanted to visualize a nostalgic feel without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled both tasks by designing a custom logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and also germs made for Cupertino clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that investigates the causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which works with the clinical examination of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I remember where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping environment-friendly frog created for a household fun center in Cupertino.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - designed for Cupertino traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but instead project emotional experiences through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with mere words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Cupertino logo design but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Cupertino logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I honestly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however my client, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family did not share his hatred for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased opinions on the value of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo realize how vital a logo is for their organization so they are way more vested in the final result. Every logo job possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, but the largest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Cupertino publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most necessary part of a published book since it is in most cases the initial thing a person views in the book store. For a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will likely ever get to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it looks like that in many cases 1 of the items folks often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a spirit of airline flight and it was definitely a victory.

Cupertino logo layout used for advertising and also a label layout for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this business logo design I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Cupertino, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging logo design jobs due to the fact that it appears that almost every dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business advertising, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dentists do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities startled in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to illustrate how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair style studio featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo design that projected an atmosphere of ease and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious route of creating merely a stylized orchid but instead crafted a company logo which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is oftentimes the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the focus on the perception that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Logo design for a software developer the layout attributes as well as iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance behind a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

A logo design including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly realized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to sell off their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Cupertino logo dsign utilizing an image that grabs the interest of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo style has actually a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t really created for an Cupertino area farm it was really created for a products broker, and this particular trademark was one of multiple that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to generate a brand mark that projects esteem, effectiveness, and prosperity.
