Duarte, California Logo Design

Every new Duarte company understands that they need a logo, but few entrepreneurs entirely comprehend the essential role their logo will play in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo performs more effectively than another. A logo has a critical and long term effect on the prosperity of a company, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Duarte, California companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require deliberation, they can be understood in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from labels to posters a scalable logo design will remain legible and just as emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be lasting and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.
Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Duarte, California coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening in an older part of the area and really wanted to project a nostalgic vibe without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished both tasks by means of creating a trademark design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria created for Duarte, California medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that investigates the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine that deals with the clinical evaluation of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more focus grabbing and more memorable.

logo style with a leaping green frog made for a household enjoyable facility in Duarte, California.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental professionals, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Duarte, California traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather communicate emotional journeys through the photos they record. The thought behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with just words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Duarte logo but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Duarte logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design jobs that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however the client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family didn’t share his hatred for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge them to share it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get honest judgements on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they really liked the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their logo design recognize how important a logo design is for their company so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo project has it’s allotment of obstacles, however the greatest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Duarte, California publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most important part of a printed book considering that it is ordinarily the primary thing a person sees in the book store. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will ever have to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go nevertheless it seems that in many cases one of the aspects folks tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a sense of air travel and it was surely a success.

Duarte logo layout made use of for advertising as well as a label style for Vintage Case includes an old font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be older cases. For this brand concept I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Duarte, California, style include an arc with lines converging with it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that almost every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really enjoy doing dental care logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in height to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to explain precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a hair layout workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo which related an atmosphere of contentment and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept that didn’t go the obvious path of creating just a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is in most cases the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the importance on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Logo design for a software program programmer the style attributes and famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the substance behind a logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to sell off their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Duarte logo dsign using an image which garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo design has actually an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t really designed for an Duarte, California regional farm it was really developed for an investments broker, and this particular business logo was one of several that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to develop an identity that projects self-confidence, success, and wealth.

Duarte Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo style attribute for outwardly dealing with arrow as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the freedom to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of realizing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this instance, I struck a bullseye with the first go.

Logo made for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is similar to a popular sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
