Echo Park Logo Design

Virtually every new Echo Park organization realizes that they need a logo, however few entrepreneurs fully understand the essential role their organization logo can take in their financial success, or precisely why one logo functions far better than another. A logo has a critical and lasting impact on the financial success of a company, select the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Echo Park companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require contemplation, they can be understood in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will stay legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Echo Park coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and cafe were actually launching in an old part of the area and really wanted to cast a nostalgic atmosphere without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished the two jobs by means of creating a company logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and germs developed for Echo Park clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that works with the laboratory examination of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more appealing, more interest grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping eco-friendly frog created for a household enjoyable facility in Echo Park.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Echo Park traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather convey emotional journeys by means of the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they often tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something comparable to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Echo Park logo but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Echo Park logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design projects that I take on I truly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man really despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his contempt for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased opinions on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their logo realize how crucial a logo is for their company so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo design job has it’s portion of obstacles, but the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, layout for Echo Park publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, but it is the most essential part of a published book since it is usually the primary thing a person views in the bookstore. With respect to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever have to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it looks like that in many instances 1 of the things individuals tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a feeling of airline flight and it was certainly a success.

Echo Park logo style used for advertising as well as a tag layout for Vintage Case includes an old-fashioned font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be much older cases. For this brand concept I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be used for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Echo Park, design include an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs considering that it appears that each and every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really love doing dental care logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters startled in height to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to explain specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo design created for a hair design workshop including a script font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo which projected an atmosphere of ease and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious path of crafting just a stylized orchid but instead created a business logo which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is usually the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the main focus on the feeling that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software program developer the design attributes and renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the significance behind a logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

Advance logo style produced for a Echo Park interior designer, layout attribute a collection of red circles that converge and change the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

logo design done for Advanced Management Solutions, the characters for letter V and also A in center of the word advanced have actually been changed to connect straight into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Echo Park logo design job was carried out for a leadership guide that helps business professionals to become more successful at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a spot to sell their used products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Echo Park logo dsign using a graphic which captures the interest of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo design has a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t really composed for an Echo Park area farm it was in reality created for a products broker, and this particular trademark was one of many which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to design a image that projected assurance, success, and prosperity.
Logo design made for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is similar to a famous sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked closely with the owner to design a business logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
