Fresno, California Logo Design

Nearly every new Fresno business knows they require a logo, yet few new business owners entirely recognize the vital role their business logo will perform in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo design functions better than another. A company logo has a critical and long-term impact on the success of a business, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of a company.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Fresno, California companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require deliberation, they can be grasped in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Fresno, California coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an old section of town and hoped to project a vintage atmosphere without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I achieved both of these jobs by designing a logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and germs made for Fresno, California clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the root causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of healthcare that works with the laboratory examination of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I remember in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more interesting, more interest grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo style with a jumping environment-friendly frog developed for a family members enjoyable center in Fresno, California.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and also a tree - created for Fresno, California travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather reveal emotional journeys through the images they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Fresno logo but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Fresno logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I truly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get objective viewpoints on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their business logo recognize how vital a logo is for their business so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo design project has it’s allotment of obstacles, but the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Fresno, California book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, but it really is the most vital part of a published book since it is in most cases the initial thing a person sees in the bookstore. For a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever have to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it looks like that in many instances one of the things folks tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a feeling of air travel and it was certainly a success.

Fresno logo style made use of for advertising and marketing and also a tag style for Vintage Case includes an archaic typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be older cases. For this custom logo design I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be used for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Fresno, California, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it appears that every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really love doing dental care logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a household nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to describe exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo style produced for a hair design studio including a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo that related an atmosphere of peace and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a concept that did not go the obvious path of making just a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a business logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is more often than not the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the main focus on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their customers.

Logo design for a software program programmer the design functions as well as iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance supporting a logo is just as important as how it brands the company it represents.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly knew the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to sell off their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Fresno logo design dsign with a graphic which garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t actually composed for an Fresno, California regional farm it was actually developed for an investments broker, and this particular business logo was one of many that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to design an identity that projects trust, success, and opulence.

Fresno Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo style function for externally encountering arrowhead as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the opportunity to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without understanding where the target is. Fortunately, in this particular instance, I nailed a bullseye with the first go.

Logo made for the use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a famous sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked closely with the proprietor to produce a logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
