Hanford, California Logo Design

Nearly every new Hanford business person knows they are in need of a logo, however few new business owners entirely understand the key role their company logo will take in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo design works better than another. A business logo has an instant and lasting influence on the viability of a company, select the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a business.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Hanford, California businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require deliberation, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from labels to signboards a scalable logo design will stay legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be lasting and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.
Retro logo design of a bike produced for a Hanford, California coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening in an older section of town and wished to project a retro feel without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I achieved the two jobs by means of designing a custom logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as germs developed for Hanford, California medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which works with the clinical evaluation of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I recollect in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and even more memorable.

logo style with a jumping green frog designed for a household enjoyable center in Hanford, California.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - developed for Hanford, California traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather convey emotional journeys through the images they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they often tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with mere words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Hanford logo but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Hanford logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however the customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced opinions on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo understand how essential a logo design is for their organization so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo project has it’s share of difficulties, however the largest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Hanford, California book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most critical part of a published book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. Regarding a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity they will ever have to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it seems like that in many instances one of the traits folks tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a feeling of flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Hanford logo layout made use of for advertising and a label design for Vintage Instance includes an old typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be antique cases. For this brand design I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for anything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Hanford, California, style include an arc with lines intersecting via it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs considering that it seems that every single dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really enjoy doing dentist logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters surprised in height to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to illustrate specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo layout created for a hair layout workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo that related a spirit of tranquility and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious route of designing just a stylized orchid but instead crafted a logo which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is more often than not the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the focus on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Logo style for a software program programmer the design attributes as well as legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk management. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it represented something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance behind a business logo is just as important as how it brands the business it represents.

A logo style including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a spot to sell their used products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Hanford logo design dsign utilizing an illustration that garners the interest of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo style has a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t really designed for an Hanford, California regional farm it was in reality created for an investments broker, and this particular logo design was one of several which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to develop an identity that projects esteem, success, and wealth.

Hanford Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo layout function for externally dealing with arrow as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the opportunity to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without understanding where the target is. Thankfully, in this case, I struck a bullseye with the first try.

Logo made for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is similar to a well-known sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted loads of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo design which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
