Huntington Beach Logo Design

Nearly every new Huntington Beach business realizes that they need a logo, but few new business owners fully grasp the key role their organization logo can take in their financial success, or why one logo works better than another. A logo design has an immediate and lasting influence on the prosperity of a business, pick the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Huntington Beach companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require contemplation, they can be grasped in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo design of a bike developed for a Huntington Beach coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an older section of the community and wished to project an old-fashioned vibe without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled both of these tasks by means of developing a custom logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria designed for Huntington Beach medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which examines the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which deals with the laboratory evaluation of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more appealing, more attention grabbing and even more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping green frog developed for a family members enjoyable facility in Huntington Beach.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Huntington Beach traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather convey emotional experiences through the images they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something similar to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Huntington Beach logo design but also to show the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Huntington Beach logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however the client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his hatred for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased opinions on the value of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really liked the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their logo understand how important a logo design is for their organization so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo design project has it’s share of challenges, however the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Huntington Beach book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most important part of a published book given that it is often the primary thing a person views in the bookstore. Regarding a publisher, it’s the opportunity that they will likely ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it looks like that in many cases one of the items individuals usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a sense of air travel and it was certainly a success.

Huntington Beach logo design used for marketing as well as a label design for Vintage Situation includes an old-fashioned font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be much older cases. For this brand concept I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could be used for everything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Huntington Beach, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most difficult logo jobs considering that it appears that every single dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dentist logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters staggered in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to illustrate how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style produced for a hair design workshop including a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo that communicated an atmosphere of contentment and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious route of crafting just a stylized orchid but instead created a logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is usually the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the main focus on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Logo style for a software program designer the layout functions and renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk managing. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a logo is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a spot to sell their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Huntington Beach logo design dsign with a graphic that captures the attention of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo layout has a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t actually designed for an Huntington Beach area farm it was really devised for a products broker, and this logo was one of a handful of that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to create a graphic that projected confidence, financial success, and affluence.
Logo developed for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font that is similar to a famous sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked closely with the owner to produce a logo design that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
