Irvine Logo Design

Virtually every new Irvine business knows they need a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly recognize the pivotal role their logo design will make in their success, or the reason that one business logo functions more effectively than another. A logo has an instant and lasting effect on the prosperity of a company, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Irvine companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand deliberation, they can be grasped in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo style of a bike developed for a Irvine coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening in an old section of town and hoped to project a nostalgic feel without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled both jobs by means of creating a trademark design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria created for Irvine clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that studies the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which works with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more interesting, more interest grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog created for a family fun center in Irvine.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - made for Irvine travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche sector because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead project emotional experiences through the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something the same to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Irvine logo but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Irvine logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I truly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his contempt for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to share it with colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral judgements on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to design their logo design comprehend how essential a logo is for their company so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo design job possesses it’s allotment of hurdles, but the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Irvine book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, yet it is the most crucial part of a published book because it is usually the initial thing a person views in the book store. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever get to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go however it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the traits folks often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a sense of flight and it was surely a victory.

Irvine logo style used for advertising and marketing and also a tag style for Vintage Situation features an antiquated font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be much older cases. For this logo design I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Irvine, style include an arc with lines converging via it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most challenging logo design jobs due to the fact that it appears that every single dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dental care business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters startled in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to describe precisely how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo which projected a sense of relaxation and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious path of crafting just a stylized orchid but rather designed a logo that suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is in most cases the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the emphasis on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo design for a software application developer the design features and also iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk management. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the business it represents.

Progress logo layout created for a Irvine indoor designer, layout feature a collection of red circles that intersect and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

logo style provided for Advanced Management Solutions, the personalities for letter V as well as A in center of words progressed have been changed to tie directly into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Irvine logo design project was undertaken for a leadership specialist that enables business professionals to develop into more effective at handling people, expectations, and profitability.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a spot to market their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Irvine logo dsign using a graphic which pulls in the interest of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo design has an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo concept wasn’t really composed for an Irvine area farm it was actually devised for an investments broker, and this particular company logo was one of a handful of which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to produce a brand mark that projects assurance, success, and affluence.
Logo designed for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font style that is similar to a well-known sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked closely with the business owner to produce a logo design that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
