Irvine, California Logo Design

Each and every new Irvine business person realizes that they are in need of a logo, yet few new business owners fully recognize the key role their company logo can make in their success, or exactly why one business logo performs better than another. A logo design has an immediate and sustaining effect on the prosperity of a business, select the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of a company.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Irvine, California companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand scrutiny, they can be understood in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from labels to signboards a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be timeless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.
Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Irvine, California coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and cafe were launching in an older section of the area and wished to cast a nostalgic vibe without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished both of these tasks via creating a logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs developed for Irvine, California clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which analyzes the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the field of healthcare that deals with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Typically I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves quite literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more appealing, more interest grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog designed for a family fun center in Irvine, California.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and also a tree - made for Irvine, California travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather reveal emotional journeys by means of the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they oftentimes share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with just words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Irvine logo design but also to illustrate the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Irvine logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I seriously savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however the client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his contempt for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get neutral opinions on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their business logo realize how crucial a logo design is for their organization so they are way more invested in the final result. Every logo project possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, however the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, style for Irvine, California publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most essential part of a published book considering that it is in most cases the first thing a person views in the bookstore. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity they will ever get to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it looks like that in many cases 1 of the aspects folks usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a feeling of air travel and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Irvine logo style used for advertising and also a tag design for Vintage Situation includes an old-fashioned font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that looked to be older cases. For this business logo design I sought to come up with a logo that had a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Irvine, California, style include an arc with lines converging via it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo jobs because it appears that every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really love doing dental care logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family members not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters startled in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to illustrate precisely how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design which communicated a feeling of ease and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious path of designing just a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a logo design that suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is more often than not the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the main focus on the feeling that they really wanted to forecast to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software program designer the style attributes as well as famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk operations. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in many cases the substance supporting a business logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

A logo style including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly realized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a location to sell their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Irvine logo dsign using a graphic which pulls in the attention of traffic and sends an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo style has actually an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem concept wasn’t really composed for an Irvine, California area farm it was actually devised for an investments broker, and this particular trademark was one of a handful of which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to develop a graphic that projects self-confidence, financial success, and prosperity.

Irvine Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo layout function for outwardly facing arrow and the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design they preferred, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the opportunity to discover any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this particular instance, I nailed a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo made for using an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font style that is evocative a popular sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked closely with the proprietor to produce a business logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
