La Cañada Flintridge Logo Design

Every new La Cañada Flintridge business understands that they need a logo, yet few new business owners fully grasp the vital role their organization logo will perform in their becoming successful, or the reason that one business logo performs far better than another. A logo design has an instant and sustaining impact on the prosperity of a company, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help La Cañada Flintridge companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand contemplation, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo style of a bicycle created for a La Cañada Flintridge coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening in an older part of the area and wished to visualize a vintage vibe without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I achieved the two jobs by creating a sign concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria developed for La Cañada Flintridge clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which analyzes the triggers and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which deals with the clinical assessment of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I recollect where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Generally I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more interest grabbing and much more memorable.

logo design with a leaping environment-friendly frog made for a household enjoyable center in La Cañada Flintridge.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for La Cañada Flintridge travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather project emotional experiences through the photos they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they frequently tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with just words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  La Cañada Flintridge logo but also to illustrate the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

La Cañada Flintridge logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design projects that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy truly disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family did not share his aversion for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get objective point of views on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their logo understand how essential a logo design is for their company so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job has it’s portion of hurdles, but the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for La Cañada Flintridge book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, but it really is the most important part of a published book given that it is ordinarily the primary thing a person sees in the bookstore. Concerning a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will likely ever have to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it looks like that in many instances 1 of the aspects folks tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a sense of air travel and it was surely a success.

La Cañada Flintridge logo layout utilized for advertising and marketing and also a label design for Vintage Situation features an antiquated font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old style feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different generation.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in La Cañada Flintridge, design include an arc with lines converging with it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging logo design jobs because it appears that every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dental business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters surprised in height to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to summarize how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style developed for a hair design workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo which related a sense of relaxation and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept that didn’t go the obvious course of crafting just a stylized orchid but rather delivered a business logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is usually the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the main focus on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their customers.

Arabian horse logo design produced for a horse ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian program horses.

Logo layout for a software application developer the style attributes as well as renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the meaning behind a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the business it represents.

Progress logo design produced for a La Cañada Flintridge interior designer, layout attribute a collection of red circles that intersect and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

A logo design featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly realized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to sell their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their La Cañada Flintridge logo design dsign utilizing an image which garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo design has actually a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t actually composed for an La Cañada Flintridge area farm it was in reality designed for an investments broker, and this business logo was one of a handful of which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to create an identity that projects confidence, financial success, and prosperity.
Logo developed for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is evocative a popular sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the owner to produce a business logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
