Laguna Logo Design

Each and every new Laguna business realizes that they need a logo, yet few entrepreneurs thoroughly realize the pivotal role their organization logo will take in their success, or why one logo works more effectively than another. A business logo has an immediate and long-term impact on the financial success of a company, select the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Laguna companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand deliberation, they can be comprehended in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo style of a bike developed for a Laguna coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were launching in an old section of the city and wished to project a nostalgic feel without appearing as boring or low energy. I accomplished both of these tasks via designing a custom logo concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria made for Laguna medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that analyzes the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the field of medicine which deals with the laboratory examination of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the only instance I remember in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more focus grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping eco-friendly frog developed for a family members fun center in Laguna.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Laguna traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead project emotional experiences through the photos they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they often tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Laguna logo but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Laguna logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy truly disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his aversion for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased judgements on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really liked the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their business logo recognize how important a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo design project has it’s allotment of difficulties, however the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Laguna book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most crucial part of a published book considering that it is in most cases the primary thing a person views in the bookstore. Concerning a publisher, it’s the opportunity that they will likely ever get to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it seems like that in many cases 1 of the items people tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a feeling of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Laguna logo layout made use of for advertising and a label layout for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be vintage cases. For this logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Laguna, style include an arc with lines intersecting via it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can be one of the most difficult logo projects because it seems that each and every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dentistry logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a household not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 personalities staggered in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to explain precisely how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a hair layout workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo that carried a feeling of calmness and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious course of making just a stylized orchid but rather designed a company logo that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is more often than not the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the focus on the perception that they wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian steed logo layout created for an equine cattle ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo style a little restaurant, style includes a modified script font which floats over a group of luxuriant lines and also dots.

Logo style for a software developer the layout functions and iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk management. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism behind a logo is just as important as how it brands the business it represents.

Evolve logo layout developed for a Laguna interior developer, layout function a series of red circles that intersect and replace the letter O in the center of the logo style.

A logo design including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly understood the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to sell their used items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Laguna logo design dsign using an illustration which garners the attention of vehicles and projects an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t really composed for an Laguna regional farm it was really developed for a commodities broker, and this particular company was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to design a graphic that projected self-assurance, effectiveness, and wealth.
Logo design made for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is evocative a popular sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to produce a logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
