Laguna Niguel, California Logo Design

Virtually every new Laguna Niguel company realizes that they are in need of a logo, however few entrepreneurs thoroughly realize the pivotal role their organization’s logo will perform in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo works better than another. A logo has an immediate and lasting effect on the prosperity of a business, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of an organization.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Laguna Niguel, California companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand contemplation, they can be comprehended in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be ageless and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.
Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Laguna Niguel, California coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening in an old section of the city and wanted to project an old-fashioned atmosphere without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished the two jobs via creating a company logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and germs designed for Laguna Niguel, California clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that analyzes the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that works with the clinical examination of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I call to mind where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and much more memorable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog developed for a household fun facility in Laguna Niguel, California.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and also a tree - created for Laguna Niguel, California travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather convey emotional experiences through the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Laguna Niguel logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Laguna Niguel logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his scorn for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get honest viewpoints on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo design comprehend how crucial a logo is for their company so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo design job has it’s allotment of hurdles, however the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Laguna Niguel, California publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin piece of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most necessary part of a published book since it is in most cases the primary thing a person views in the bookstore. With regard to a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will likely ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it seems that in many instances 1 of the things individuals often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a feeling of air travel and it was definitely a winner.

Laguna Niguel logo layout utilized for marketing and a label style for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be much older cases. For this custom logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that had a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Laguna Niguel, California, style include an arc with lines intersecting with it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects because it appears that every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really love doing dentist logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters surprised in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to illustrate specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair design studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a business logo that carried a spirit of simplicity and connection for their new hair salon. I created a concept which didn’t go the obvious route of designing simply a stylized orchid but rather designed a business logo which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is usually the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the main focus on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Logo layout for a software developer the style attributes and also renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it meant something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance behind a business logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

A logo style featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a spot to market their used products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Laguna Niguel logo dsign along with an image which pulls in the interest of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo design has a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t actually designed for an Laguna Niguel, California area farm it was actually created for an investments broker, and this particular brand was one of multiple which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to generate a image that projected self-confidence, success, and prosperity.

Laguna Niguel Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo layout feature for externally dealing with arrow and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they preferred, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the liberty to discover any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this case, I struck a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo design created for making use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is similar to a well-known sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked directly with the owner to develop a logo design that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
