Lincoln Logo Design

Virtually every new Lincoln organization realizes that they require a logo, but few new business owners fully realize the essential role their logo design will make in their financial success, or the reason that one logo design performs more effectively than another. A business logo has an immediate and sustaining effect on the prosperity of a company, select the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Lincoln businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require consideration, they can be comprehended in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bicycle produced for a Lincoln coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually opening up in an older part of town and wished to cast a vintage atmosphere without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled each of the jobs by means of designing a sign concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria created for Lincoln medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that examines the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that deals with the clinical examination of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I call to mind where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and even more memorable.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog designed for a family enjoyable center in Lincoln.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Lincoln traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather convey emotional journeys by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they frequently tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with mere words. I attempted to do something comparable to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Lincoln logo but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Lincoln logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I seriously take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however the client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members did not share his contempt for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get honest point of views on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their business logo understand how essential a logo is for their company so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo job has it’s allotment of hurdles, however the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Lincoln publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most essential part of a printed book considering that it is often the primary thing a person sees in the book store. For a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems like that in many instances one of the items people tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a good sense of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Lincoln logo style made use of for marketing and also a label style for Vintage Instance features an antiquated font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be much older cases. For this logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that had a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Lincoln, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects because it appears that almost every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dentistry business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to illustrate how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair layout studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo which carried a spirit of serenity and class for their new hair studio. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious course of crafting just a stylized orchid but instead delivered a business logo that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is in most cases the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the main focus on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian horse logo style produced for a steed ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created an original logo design styled to symbolize the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of equines. By having an identifiable head shape and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the most quite easily recognizable horse breeds in the entire world.

Logo style for a software program developer the style attributes and also iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

A logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to market their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Lincoln business logo dsign with an illustration that garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo design has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo design wasn’t actually developed for an Lincoln regional farm it was really created for a commodities broker, and this logo design was one of a handful of which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to produce a graphic that projected confidence, success, and prosperity.
Logo design made for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is evocative a popular sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked closely with the owner to design a logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
