POINTERS ON SELECTING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design agency presents a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they can’t reimburse the time you commit which is much more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many designers talk a good game but ultimately a designer can only be judged from the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their design portfolio does not contain real world examples odds are they will not be able to deliver a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be recognized and be unforgettable, and it’s goal is to mirror your personal vision for your business. If a logo designer isn’t focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how soon they can get paid.

Linda LOGO DESIGN

For over 20 years ImageCo has been helping businesses of all kinds grow memorable brand identities. We’ve performed logo design work for ranchers, schools, diamond miners, party planners, bistros, retailers, and practically every other kind of business you can think of. What makes ImageCo unique compared to traditional designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every branding project as if it will be employed as an electric sign. Because of our sign first strategy our brand identity designs can, and have been employed in everything from garment labels to billboards. Our sign first technique ensures that our logos are just as effective whether they are used in television commercials or web apps, they are consistently identifiable, understood, and always remembered irrespective of size or purpose.

American Made ★ Design

The thing that seriously sets ImageCo apart from other design firms that you probably have found in search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every project we are hired to do, we do ourselves. Regardless of the kind of project we take on, brand identity design, web page, trade show exhibition, or commercial sign, we do not, and never will farm-out our client’s projects to organizations located outside the United States. Whenever you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that answers the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a middleman that marks up the price of your project and determines the conditions of how you and I do business.

ASPECTS OF A GOOD LOGO DESIGN

Every new Linda company knows they require a logo, but few start-ups fully recognize the crucial role their organization’s logo can make in their becoming successful, or why one logo performs more effectively than another. A logo has a critical and long-term impact on the prosperity of a company, choose the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Linda businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t need deliberation, they can be understood in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to store signs a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the product or business they brand.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be enduring and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

understand your brand

Brand – It is a verb and a noun, it is an identifying mark and also the process of marking something to ensure that it can be identified, its foundation originates from the mark branded onto livestock. Today a brand represents basically anything with an intention, whether it be earnings or government agencies, a brand is an inherent aspect of specifying the value of a specific thing in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like advertising and marketing’s sexy sister, they are all from the same family, the distinction being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity competition targeted at a specific audience, it’s objective is to produce a mental image that the audience can connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated by advertising and marketing and identity design. When somebody mentions the names Porsche or Corvette what we consider is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can move us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, elegance, of something dangerous and sexy . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals purchase those brands. Brand image is why people acquire most things, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can identify with.

Branding Companies – If you look back at the history of most branding agencies you’ll find that they are often rebranded marketing and advertising firms. When someone says they are in advertising and marketing most individuals will likely have a preconceived notion about what they do. However when someone says “I am in branding”… it simply sounds more impressive, maybe it’s since many people do not recognize what it implies to be in branding so it comes off as mysterious and kind of attractive.

Brand Identity – Is an inclusive term that defines the visual aspects of a product or company that affect understandings. This primarily consists of the name, the logo design, the packaging, the different colors used but can additionally consist of audio, lighting, texture, signs, really anything that can be seen, touched or heard are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that specializes in a kind of visual design which helps shape the public image of a firm, a product or a business organization. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, signage designs, packaging, and also collateral material such as cards, stationery, and pamphlets. Some identity designers also build websites and user interfaces. The vital duty of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues and also an emotional tone with the goal of influencing actions, results and also perceptions.

select SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo design of a bicycle produced for a Linda coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening in an older section of the community and really wanted to cast a nostalgic feel without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled each of the tasks by means of designing a custom logo concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and germs developed for Linda medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which deals with the clinical assessment of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I recollect where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping green frog developed for a family members fun facility in Linda.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Linda travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead communicate emotional experiences through the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they often share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with just words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Linda logo design but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Linda logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I truly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his aversion for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial point of views on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to create their business logo comprehend how important a logo design is for their business so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo project has it’s portion of challenges, however the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Linda book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most crucial part of a published book since it is usually the initial thing a person views in the book store. For a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever get to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems like that in many cases 1 of the things people often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a sense of air travel and it was surely a success.

Linda logo layout made use of for advertising and also a tag layout for Vintage Case features an archaic font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be much older cases. For this logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Linda, style consist of an arc with lines converging via it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects considering that it appears that virtually every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really love doing dental care business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a household not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters surprised in height to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to summarize precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo design created for a Linda hair layout workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo that carried a feeling of calmness and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious path of making just a stylized orchid but instead crafted a logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is in most cases the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the attention on the perception that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian equine logo design produced for a horse cattle ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created an original brand design fashioned to manifest the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of equines. With a distinctive head shape and higher tail posture, the Arabian is one of the most immediately identifiable horse lineages in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A Linda restaurant logo design a little restaurant, design includes a changed script typeface which floats over a team of ornate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo style a small dining establishment, style contains a customized manuscript typeface which hovers above a group of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Logo design for a software application designer the layout features and also legendary Linda element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk management. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism behind a business logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

Advance logo layout created for a Lindaindoor developer, layout function a series of red circles that intersect and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Linda interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who prepares, researches, collaborates, and manages such tasks. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that consists of conceptual development, area planning, location inspections, programming, analysis, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and implementation of the design.

logo style provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Linda, the personalities for letter V and also A in center of words progressed have actually been modified to tie directly into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Linda logo design job was carried out for a leadership guide that enables business leaders to develop into more efficient at managing people, expectations, and profitability.

A Linda business logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to market their used products to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Linda logo design utilizing an illustration which seizes the interest of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

Logo layout MQ ranches, this Linda company logo style has an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem concept wasn’t actually produced for an Linda area farm it was in reality designed for an investments broker, and this particular company logo was one of several which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to produce a image that projects esteem, effectiveness, and opulence.

Linda Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo design feature for outwardly encountering arrowhead and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the freedom to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without knowing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this particular case, I hit a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo design designed for the use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is evocative a renowned Linda sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked directly with the owner to produce a logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
