Livermore, California Logo Design

Nearly every new Livermore business professional knows they need a logo, but few entrepreneurs fully understand the key role their logo will play in their financial success, or exactly why one logo design works better than another. A company logo has an instant and long-term effect on the viability of a business, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a business.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Livermore, California companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require deliberation, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be lasting and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.
Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a Livermore, California coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening in an older part of the area and hoped to visualize a nostalgic vibe without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished both jobs via designing a custom logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria designed for Livermore, California medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which deals with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I recall where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping environment-friendly frog designed for a family members fun facility in Livermore, California.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and a tree - developed for Livermore, California travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead reveal emotional experiences through the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Livermore logo but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Livermore logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial opinions on the value of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they adored the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo recognize how essential a logo design is for their business so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo project has it’s portion of hurdles, but the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Livermore, California book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, yet it is the most crucial part of a published book because it is in most cases the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With respect to a publisher, it’s the opportunity they will likely ever get to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects folks tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a sense of flight and it was undoubtedly a success.

Livermore logo design utilized for marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be antique cases. For this custom logo design I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Livermore, California, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it appears that each and every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dental care logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to explain how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo layout developed for a hair style studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo which carried a sense of contentment and class for their new hair salon. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious course of designing just a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a company logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is frequently the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the attention on the perception that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Logo style for a software program developer the layout features and also famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

A logo design including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to sell their pre-owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Livermore logo design dsign with an image that garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design that they preferred, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the opportunity to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without knowing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this particular instance, I hit a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo created for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is similar to a well-known sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked directly with the owner to design a business logo that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
