Livermore Logo Design

Each and every new Livermore venture knows they require a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly comprehend the crucial role their company logo can play in their financial success, or why one logo works more effectively than another. A logo has a critical and lasting impact on the prosperity of a company, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Livermore businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require scrutiny, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and just as emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bicycle developed for a Livermore coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening up in an older section of the area and hoped to cast a retro vibe without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled both tasks by developing a sign design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria designed for Livermore clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the triggers and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that deals with the clinical examination of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I recall where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and much more memorable.

logo style with a jumping green frog designed for a household fun facility in Livermore.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - developed for Livermore traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead convey emotional experiences through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Livermore logo but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Livermore logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design projects that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however the customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his hatred for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get objective viewpoints on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really liked the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their logo recognize how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo design project possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, but the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Livermore publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most crucial part of a published book since it is usually the very first thing a person views in the bookstore. Concerning a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever get to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go however it seems like that in many instances 1 of the items individuals often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a feeling of air travel and it was certainly a winner.

Livermore logo style utilized for marketing and a tag design for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for music instruments, that looked to be antique cases. For this logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Livermore, style include an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most difficult logo projects considering that it appears that every single dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I actually love doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family members nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities startled in height to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to explain exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that describes itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout developed for a hair design workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design which carried a spirit of contentment and class for their new hair salon. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious course of designing merely a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a company logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is generally the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the emphasis on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their customers.

Arabian equine logo layout produced for a steed ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software designer the design attributes and also legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the owner of the company and in many cases the significance supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the business it represents.

Advance logo style created for a Livermore indoor developer, style feature a series of red circles that intersect and change the letter O in the center of the logo style.

A logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Livermore business logo dsign using a graphic that seizes the attention of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo style has a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand design wasn’t really created for an Livermore regional farm it was really devised for a products broker, and this particular business logo was one of several that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to produce a graphic that projects self-confidence, effectiveness, and luxury.
Logo created for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is reminiscent of a famous sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked closely with the proprietor to create a logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
