Los Banos, California Logo Design

Every new Los Banos company understands that they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly understand the pivotal role their company logo can make in their success, or exactly why one logo functions more effectively than another. A business logo has a critical and lasting impact on the success of a company, pick the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Los Banos, California companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require scrutiny, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be enduring and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.
Retro logo style of a bicycle developed for a Los Banos, California coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and cafe were launching in an old part of the town and wanted to project a retro vibe without appearing as boring or low energy. I accomplished each of the jobs by means of designing a logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria created for Los Banos, California medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which examines the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which deals with the clinical assessment of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I remember in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more interesting, more focus grabbing and more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping green frog created for a family members fun center in Los Banos, California.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more lively high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - made for Los Banos, California traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather convey emotional experiences through the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they often tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Los Banos logo design but also to show the depth in her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Los Banos logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I really savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but my client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy truly disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his hatred for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge all of them to share it with colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced assessments on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo understand how essential a logo is for their company so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo job has it’s portion of hurdles, however the greatest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Los Banos, California publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin piece of real estate to work with, however it is the most necessary part of a published book due to the fact that it is in most cases the first thing a person sees in the book store. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever have to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems like that in many instances 1 of the traits people often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a sense of flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Los Banos logo style utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a label layout for Vintage Instance features an old font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be older cases. For this custom logo design I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for anything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another generation.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Los Banos, California, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo design jobs considering that it appears that each and every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dentist logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a household nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities staggered in height to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to illustrate precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo design created for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo design that projected an atmosphere of serenity and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious direction of making just a stylized orchid but rather designed a company logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is in most cases the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the importance on the perception that they wanted to project to their customers.

Logo design for a software program programmer the design functions as well as renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a logo is just as important as how it serves the business it represents.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to market their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Los Banos business logo dsign utilizing a graphic that seizes the interest of traffic and projects an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo layout has actually an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t really developed for an Los Banos, California area farm it was in reality developed for a commodities broker, and this brand was one of many which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was really to make an identity that projects self-assurance, financial success, and affluence.

Los Banos Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style attribute for outwardly facing arrowhead as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the liberty to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where the target is. Luckily, in this instance, I nailed a bullseye with the very first shot.

Logo made for the use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is similar to a renowned sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked closely with the business owner to produce a logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
