Merced, California Logo Design

Each and every new Merced business person realizes that they are in need of a logo, however few entrepreneurs entirely realize the key role their business logo will take in their success, or precisely why one logo design performs better than another. A logo design has an immediate and long-term effect on the growth of a company, pick the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of a business.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Merced, California companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require scrutiny, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from labels to posters a scalable business logo will be legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be lasting and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.
Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Merced, California coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an older section of the town and wished to project a vintage feel without coming across as boring or low energy. I accomplished both jobs by means of developing a company logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria created for Merced, California clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that studies the causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of healthcare that works with the laboratory examination of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I recall where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more attention grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping green frog developed for a household enjoyable center in Merced, California.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Merced, California traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather project emotional experiences by means of the images they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they frequently convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with just words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Merced logo but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Merced logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design jobs that I take on I honestly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however the customer, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family did not share his hatred for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get objective opinions on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really liked the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their logo recognize how important a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo design project possesses it’s portion of challenges, but the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Merced, California book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most crucial part of a printed book due to the fact that it is in most cases the initial thing a person sees in the bookstore. Regarding a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever get to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go however it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects consumers usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a feeling of flight and it was certainly a winner.

Merced logo style utilized for advertising and marketing and a tag style for Vintage Instance features an antiquated typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this business logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Merced, California, style include an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects because it seems that every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dentistry logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a household not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to explain precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a business logo that projected a spirit of calmness and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious course of designing merely a stylized orchid but rather crafted a company logo which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is in most cases the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the focus on the feeling that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Logo style for a software application designer the style features and famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

A logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly understood the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a location to sell their used items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Merced business logo dsign along with a graphic which grabs the attention of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo design has actually an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t actually created for an Merced, California area farm it was in reality designed for a products broker, and this logo design was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to make an identity that projected self-assurance, financial success, and wealth.

Merced Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo layout function for externally encountering arrow as well as the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the liberty to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye in the absence of realizing where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this case, I nailed a bullseye with the very first shot.

Logo developed for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is similar to a well-known sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked directly with the proprietor to create a business logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
